Given the comments by Golding about Josh Mc being responsible for lining everyone up from the Will instead of Moses from the Mike; seems that Saban should well be Concerned. Altho, Moses had last year to learn the calls, seems he may not be the go to guy for signals? and if not WHO?
I don't think Golding's comments meant Moses isn't the go to guy, even when he and Josh are both on the field. You might've read too much into what Pete said.

I'm gonna say that he reminds me a lot of Eric Metcalf.

He's not entirely dissimilar from David Palmer, either.

I don't know why I didn't even think of Palmer You're right

For sure. I think that is a good comparison. speed and shifty like you said and make consistent catches all over the field

I don't watch enough NFL to comment on that, but I don't know if it's possible to find a literal clone of Waddle.
You might be watching too much sci-fi.

Alabama first-team Will LB likely out for season (al.com)
quote:
One of Alabama’s first-team linebackers is likely out for the year due to an injury suffered during the Crimson Tide’s scrimmage on Saturday.
Redshirt senior inside linebacker Josh McMillon sustained a knee injury during the scrimmage that’s likely a season-ending injury, according to sources. It seems like there’s a small chance McMillon could return late in the season, per sources.
It’s a blow to an inside linebacker group that was already a question mark. After serving as a top backup last season, McMillon had been the first-team inside linebacker next to Dylan Moses since the beginning of the spring and had remained the favorite to win the job through the early portion of fall camp.
It’s the second significant injury suffered by an Alabama player in the last few days. The Tide lost five-star freshman running back Trey Sanders to a season-ending foot injury late last week.

So, what exactly is McMillon's injury. He tore a ligament? If so, which ligament?

Report: Alabama LB Joshua McMillon likely out for 2019 season (BamaOnLine)
quote:
Alabama linebacker Joshua McMillon will likely miss the 2019 season, according to a report.
McMillon, a redshirt senior, suffered a knee injury during the Crimson Tide's first of two preseason scrimmages on Saturday. Head coach Nick Saban called it the "most concerning" injury of the scrimmage.
According to AL.com's Matt Zenitz, McMillon is likely out for the year due to the scrimmage injury. But there is a small chance the Memphis, Tenn., native could return to the field late in the 2019-20 season.
Since the spring, McMillon had been Alabama's first-team Will linebacker, and he started the scrimmage with the first-team defense. Now, one of the Tide's young inside linebackers will have to step up opposite Dylan Moses. Redshirt sophomore Markail Benton is likely the next man up.
McMillon was a veteran reserve on defense and a special teams contributor for Alabama in 2018. The redshirt junior recorded 14 tackles for the season with one for a loss in 10 games of action. The most-experienced linebacker behind starters Mack Wilson and Dylan Moses, the coaching staff trusted McMillon to fill in with the Tide’s first-team defense in emergency situations.

"I think Josh is a very intelligent kid," defensive coordinator Pete Golding said. "Obviously, he’s an engineering major, but football comes easy to him. He understands the Xs and Os and all those things. My biggest message to Josh, and it has been what I think he’s been doing now, is he’s having the ability to affect the 10 guys around him. I think the biggest thing from that position from an athletic standpoint, right, we’ve got guys who are more athletic than he is, and he knows that and I told him that.
"But his ability to get guys lined up, make the calls, and then he’s smart enough based on the formation and a back set, tendencies that we’ll give him and that he studies, that he can anticipate things which allows him to perform at the line and make some plays that athletically maybe other people couldn’t just because he understands, obviously, what’s coming.
"But I think his biggest thing, his biggest role for us is to able to affect the other 10 guys on the field. When he’s on, take command, be in charge, be loud, be able to affect the other guys around you, and then make the plays that you’re supposed to make. I think that’s the biggest thing, you can’t make any plays against us. I think that’s the biggest thing. I think at the second level, obviously, it’s affecting the guys around you, getting everybody on the same page, making the plays they’re supposed to make."
McMillon's season-ending knee injury is the second such setback for Alabama. Freshman running back Trey Sanders, a former 5-star recruit, will miss the 2019 season with a foot injury that needed surgery.
Alabama will hold its ninth practice of fall camp Monday, August 12, at 7:30 p.m. CT.

To anyone with a more trained eye, is there any current/former Nfl players that Waddle’s skillset reminds you of?
It’s Desean Jackson. He’s a bit shorter, but the body profile and speed are a close match.
Maybe Tavon Austin if you want a similar H/W.
ETA: Nevermind. He’s the same everything as Jackson.

did Desean in his prime have the same breakaway speed that Waddle has?

There aren’t many people that have/had the breakaway speed DeSean had in his prime.

Right on. Cant wait to watch Waddle improve on an impressive frosh season!

Jackson has speed to burn, his go routes still can take the top off defenses.

Whether McMillon would start next year in another convo, but his situation is exactly the situation that medical redshirts were created for. Him obtaining a medical redshirt is an absolute slamdunk, and this is 100% how "6th year Seniors" are created.

12.8.1.5 Five-Year Rule Waiver. The Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement, or its designated committee, by a two-thirds majority of its members present and voting, may approve waivers of the five-year rule as it deems appropriate. (Revised: 7/30/10, 7/31/14)
12.8.1.5.1 Waiver Criteria. A waiver of the five-year period of eligibility is designed to provide a student-athlete with the opportunity to participate in four seasons of intercollegiate competition within a five-year period. This waiver may be granted, based upon objective evidence, for reasons that are beyond the control of the student-athlete or the institution, which deprive the student-athlete of the opportunity to participate for more than one season in his or her sport within the five-year period. The Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement reserves the right to review requests that do not meet the more-than-one-year criteria...
