Yeah I saw that. BOL called it a throat/voice box injury.

Sounds like one of our upcoming opponents might be short a back up quarterback. Joey Gatewood MIA.

probably his parents are off the Gus Bus. Cublic said he was humiliated by Gus in the last game with the way they used him. But Cublic thinks he should wait until the season is over to hit the road.

Didn't realize Delpit's ankle injury was as bad as O is saying. Maybe they should look into some tightrope surgery, ha.

I wish no harm to come to Nix, but this feels like one of those situation where the back up leaves and inevitably the next week the starter gets hurt.
To be fair to him he already redshirted so it is probably best for him to leave and get the clock running on his sitout year.

Players Bailing in the middle of the season is bad for College football. Don't know what he is gaIning by leaving after 8 weeks of the season either.

Now Bama doesn't have to prepared for Gatewood, focus all on Nix.

I hope T.Lewis has a breakout record breaking game. May the spirit of DT fuel his fire.

Players quitting midyear isn't new. If we didn't have the new redshirt rule this would be no different than any other year. It benefits him cause it starts his sitout clock now and he can play the end of next year. Im not advocating he should.

Cole Cublic thinks Boobie Whitlow would be the backup qb if Nix gets hurt. He said zero chance either of the other 2 QBs on the roster gets to play.

I know players improve and he’s got some talent but Nix is awful and I love our defensive matchup vs. Auburn. We’d have to play pretty uncharacteristically for them to approach even 200 yards passing

The barners are in a melt down mode over this. They want Gus out, now.

A popular conspiracy theory among our friends from Lee County appears to be that Gus knows that Gatewood is better than Nix, but neither of them is particularly good so he started the true freshman to have a ready made scapegoat if the season didn't go well.

I don't know how good Nix can be but so much of him looking bad has to do with Gus and his offense. Stidham looked a thousand times better in the NFL preseason under a good offensive coordinator than he did that last year at Auburn.
