Wow, I just looked and the virus is spreading really bad in Hawaii. Their Rt is at like 1.5 so no wonder they are moving it. Good news is numbers are dropping across the mainland, I just hope our leader don’t take their foot off the Gas like last time.

I'm very surprised by that. They must finally be having widespread community transmission. Hawaii has been so draconian with the mandatory 14 day quarantine when entering the islands, I thought they were keeping it tamped down. Either way, it was evident early that the tournament would have to be moved.

Sources: Several college basketball programs are already being approached regarding potential non-conference "bubble" opportunities. A plethora of alternative routes for games are being exhausted.

Honestly I would rather push the season back to January and play a normal schedule like you would if it started in November

The Pac-12 announced today that they will not be playing any sports through the end of the 2020 calendar year. That includes, I'm told, college basketball games.

So the Pac-12 becomes the first major conference to follow the Ivy League's footsteps.

To me, that’s a pretty succinct explanation of the problem. The thing is, college sports “could operate in a bubble,” (not like an NBA bubble but some version of one), but it would take college presidents & athletic directors admitting to themselves and the world that college athletes aren’t normal college students.

Larry Scott is in the process of deciding himself right out of his cushy, overpaid job.

I don’t see the circumstances changing before January, so if the season is pushed back, I doubt we have a season.

Hawaii has kept Covid transmission extremely low.

Their rate of transmission number is so high because they have only had around 3000 cases total but have been getting around a 100 new ones per day for a while now.

That said, completely agree with you. Little chance they would commit to host a tourney with so much travel from the mainland US with the way things stand now.

I'm just making sure I didn't miss the email but has anyone received their season ticket email yet?

Anybody know what would happen with the eligibility of our players if the season were canceled. Will they be allowed a free redshirt? Will Bruner still be allowed to play next year? I would assume so, but it would be unsurprising since that is our luck.

Regardless we’d probably at least lose Primo to the draft, but it would suck to lose Bruner as well and have our players lose a season of eligibility or redshirt.

I’m entirely unsure of how it would work. If they were given an extra season or if they were allowed to use redshirts, what does that do with the 2021 class? That’s a crap ton of talented kids that might have trouble finding a home at the high-major level.
