The first game of the season was a killer
I may not be remembering correctly but it seems that Kira hit a lot more late game clutch FTs his freshman season.
Perhaps it was how bad the rest of the team was from the line but I do recall always thinking "thank God they fouled Kira" that year.
Maybe he just never got over missing those 2 against Penn at the beginning of the season.

Cecil Hurt: NCAA D-1 teams including @AlabamaMBB and @AlabamaWBB can begin up to 8 hours per week for weight-training and on-the-floor skill instruction. The skill instruction cannot exceed more than four hours per week. #Hoops
It is happening! Just don't Stop.

Speaking of Avery, how does everyone feel about him now?
If nothing else he definitely brought some needed energy to the program. Wasn't able to sustain it, but he did leave Nate some good pieces to build around. Injuries and a total idiotic NCAA ruling kept his first team from being an actual NCAA contender. I don't think that will be a problem for a while now, and if nothing else Avery helped with that.

Alabama transfer Javian Davis (@jayxbbm) has picked up a crystal ball prediction for @HailStateMBK via @247Sports. Davis averaged 6/4/1 as a redshirt freshman and has a Top 6 of Georgetown, Mississippi St, Tulane, Wake Forest, Western Kentucky and Xavier. #HailState
Moo State is a good fit for Javian IMO

South Carolina starts Thursday, Florida & Missouri in a couple weeks and who knows with Vandy because Stackhouse won’t respond to me anymore and they fired all their SID’s

Due to COVID-19, Cayman Islands tournament is moving to Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Fla., source told @Stadium. Same venue as Emerald Coast Classic.

I’m guessing Maui will be moving inland also
Posted on 7/21/20 at 2:54 pm to Chadaristic
All right! That facility is about 45 minutes from the house. The Emerald Coast Classic has been a decent tourney since it started, and this one looks even better. Might have to go catch a game or two.
I don't see how Maui takes place on the islands unless Hawaii relaxes their quarantine restrictions. I don't see them moving it to Cali either. I wonder what their backup plan is. Seattle?

Maybe Vegas or Phoenix? Seems like they would be more willing than Seattle.

I would imagine the way Arizona is blowing up, they don't need any large gatherings any time soon. Vegas may be a possibility.

Any idea when Tchikou is coming to campus? By the looks of his Instagram, he’s still out in California.

I haven't seen anything on that.

and La Salle
I remember the Tide losing to LaSalle in December of '79 at home at the buzzer. I remember it because it was the first time I had ever seen Ala lose in football or basketball and I had seen a good many games as a kid. I looked at Dad like wtf just happened.

After three days in which the University of Alabama men's basketball coaching staff has been able to conduct brief skills instruction, head coach Nate Oats said Wednesday that "it's been hard to form an impression yet" on the 2020-21 Crimson Tide team. "It's good to back in the gym, that's about the best thing I can say," Oats said. "We've mainly done shooting drills and the time is so limited, we have multiple drills going at the same time. So I'm watching tape this afternoon of some of the drills that our assistant coaches ran." Oats said Alabama was not at full strength in terms of numbers this week because of "a variety of reasons." No specific players were named, as Oats cited a UA policy that any statistics regarding COVID-19-related testing or quarantine are confidential. He did confirm that UA players were tested regularly but would not confirm or deny any positive results. "We had about 10 guys today including walk-ons that we worked in there," Oats said. "We have some guys that are rehabbing from (off-season) surgery and they are limited, so it's different things."
Earlier reports have indicated that transfer point guard Jahvon Quinerly had shoulder surgery in the off-season. Sophomore Javian Davis is in the transfer portal and is expected to announce a new school next week so he is not participating. Neither is senior John Petty, who has yet to announce whether he will remain in the NBA Draft or return to school.
"We talked this week," Oats said of Petty. "He is still talking to some NBA teams. I think he is close to a decision but he has not made one yet."
All but one of the Crimson Tide's six-man recruiting class is on campus, although Oats again cited confidentiality laws when asked if all were participating. The Crimson Tide's most recent signee, Alex Tchikou, is expected to report next week after finishing academic work and other obligations in Arizona.
This week, Oats said, the drills have mainly been "mix-and-match" due to availability.
"It's been a little bit frustrating this week, but we should be closer to a full roster next week and we will be able to tell a little more," he said.
Tchikou reporting next week. Sounds like a couple of our guys are out for COVID

Hopefully Quinerly's surgery isn't that big of a deal. He is the one person that we can't afford to lose this year.

Feel kind of guilty just asking this about the basketball team since it affects thousands of other kids but:
Can the White House's push to deny visas for first year college students if colleges move to online classes affect Primo, Ambrose-Hylton or Tchikou?

The WH reversed that policy.
They were pressured to reverse it for "continuing students" but I believe they are instituting one for "newly admitted" students now.
