I would bet that he gets fired. Hearing his actual voice saying those things is gonna be a different ball game than transcripts. Transcripts can be denied and have been, the actual recordings can’t be.

As I just said in the thread on the documentary, what LSU is going to do is concede the offers were made, deny any of them were accepted and claim all of the players Will Wade has signed have done so without receiving any impermissible benefits, and argue that the language in the NCAA's rules on impermissible benefits all deals with things being received rather than offered. They're going to hang their hat on no one cooperating and tell the NCAA to get fricked. And it will work.

Yeah I doubt that. Many schools have gotten hammered for way less than a head coach being on a recording talking about paying players.

When is the last time the NCAA really hit a school that a) fought back and b) didn't have anyone involved in the violations cooperate with the NCAA? There very well could be recordings where he talks about actually making the payments rather than negotiating them or making it known that he's willing to make them, but if there aren't then LSU is 100% going to fight the NCAA and try to win on a technicality. If they were going to fire that chubby, Pat looking sack of shite over this they would have done it a long time ago.

You're not wrong but those schools that did that didn't have the HC on tape talking about paying players. If the NCAA doesn't do anything in this case then everyone might as well cheat.

Plus, remember, the NCAA doesn’t have to have irrefutable proof that will hold up in a court of law, they just want a preponderance of the evidence. There’s plenty of evidence for their purposes. I would think the NCAA would move swiftly on this.
