There might be hope yet. They extended the drop class deadline and this semester's grades might go pass/fail.

So he might sneak through...lol

Nate Oats teleconference tomorrow. The uncertainty of signing day, NBA draft will be a big issue. (1/2)

Alabama is looking to sign several players in the late period but no contact & likelihood of later NSD is a big issue. Also likely 3 will explore NBA draft and the decision date to return will likely be later (2/2)

I know he gets mentioned and has a heart of a champion and us very important to this team but I can’t for the life of me , see how Herb could be ready for the NBA . I get he he a good defender , but you got to be able to score some in the league

More from Oats: “We’ve got to do a good job of getting our roster to look more like we want it to look. Some more athletic guards, some guys that can finish at the rim..”

Testing the NBA waters was surely expected, but how realistic are Petty's chances right now, other than going the G League route?

I see no way Petty would be on a NBA roster next year. If he wants money, he'll go to Europe but I'm hopeful he has one more solid year and maybe that's what could get him drafted.

You just don’t know with so many new variables in the mix. Does the G league even exist next year? Who knows?

Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats said he told guys he is willing to help guys find another spot if they would feel more comfortable playing the style they were recruited to play.

Oats said none have taken him up on that, but added that might change as more guys commit to UA.

Oats isn't afraid to tell the truth...even when that means admitting to media he's about to force guys out the door
