We've had wtf games all year though. Our URI win was a fluke. That was the worst game they'll play all year.

Avery needs to light a fire in this team or start packing. Bobby Hurley was hired the same year as Avery and took over the same middling program.

I love Avery and very much want him to succeed, but I am greatly troubled by our play over the last month. The execution has been bad enough, but the effort at times has been downright embarrassing.

Not dominating anything when you consistently go minutes without scoring

I agree 100% but what happens when you have non-freshman not blocking out, missing free throws, taking defensive rebounds off the chest that bounce out of bounds, missing screens, rotating players in every 45 seconds and playing someone who isn't ready for playing time due to injury?

It was shitty coaching tonight.

AU will beat the brakes off this team. Their talent is well coached and I hate it.

I don't know. They basically play like they did a year ago. Poor defense, just bombs away offense. They have way too many possessions where their guys just dribble into threes. Jared Harper has been making them so far though.

I was more impressed w the play the previous two season than what I’ve seen So far this season. Roster Management is really bad and this team has no mean streak.

Ingram, Hall, Key, and Norris were all either non factors or huge negatives tonight.

Well, how long was I on board with this team? 7 weeks or so? But that's it, any win we get in the conference will be because the other team shitted it away.
I've always wanted to win in basketball since the 80s and I guess this is just one more year away from the chance I'll get.

We have a lot of mental mistakes because we have freshmen. That's just part of the game but I don't see us progressing as a team.

I have no idea who our key bench players are. We have no identity on the bench due to playing everyone outside of Lawson. I'd be pissed if I were Lawson.

For the past few years, we run the offense through a single person and then the talent around them just fricking melts.

We have no confidence offensively;everybody not named Sexton and Petty afraid to take a shot especially if they happen to miss their first shot. This has been the case for years and still continues, except we have way better players.
Avery's rotation pattern was ridiculous, think he is trying to please eveybody. I mean did anybody not play today? With a settled pattern we would not have let them get away and then have to try play catch up.
We also had the deer in headlights look today.Perhaps a little awed by Texas.
It will get better though; just want it to hurry.

Yep- they hired a damn good coach. We're sitting back hoping Avery works out. It's pretty bad when you have to sit back and hope a coach will turn things around, even though odds are against you.

Bill Battle can get fricked. Guy didn't even want to fire Antony Grant.

Avery says they will seriously discuss evaluate rotation in the next two days.He says we were not ready and it was his fault for not preparing them properly. Back to the drawing board for him. :

Took him about a month longer than every fan to realize that.

This was as disappointed as I've been in 4 or 5 years at Alabama basketball.

That was just miserable.

I think so to but it might take him a couple of years. I hated the previous hire, did not even watch a complete game with that idiot in charge.

Tough loss tonight against a superior but still mediocre Texas team. For most of the night we didn’t even look like we belonged on the same court. Our perimeter defense is atrocious. Not sure what the game plan was on offense, but we’ve got do something besides screen and roll/dive. I’d love to see Sexton play off the ball sometimes if not just to see how defense responds. While we have improved our overall skill level, we’re still not very athletic. And our best athletes have the least skill (Sexton being the exception.)
