He absolutely blasted that one! Thought I was watching the Braves for a second, who have hit like 3 450ft homers in the last 3 days

he’s gonna have to learn to keep his front side closed and let the ball get deep on away pitches.
sec pitchers are milking him on pitches away.

? He was in the .290 range going into the game. Is this .143 in league play?

Zero reason for Davis to go back out there.

Good job Braylynn getting five outs that inning. Your about the only guy that will make somebody pucker up with a 9 run lead.

I was following along the stats link Fan provided and they had his average that low.

He probably is closer to .280 than what they had after tonight. He went 0-3.

On May the 4th, in the words of Master Jedi Yoda,”Do or do not - there is no try.” Bama did. I’m so incredibly happy for the team, especially after this shite day. It was a light but pretty vocal crowd at the Joe tonight. Hope attendance picks up for Friday and Saturday games. Hope the team continues to play this loose. Banged Vandy for 11 hits and had the mercy rule run sitting on 3rd base in the 8th. Holman had a masterful 7 innings with Davis taking care of the 8th and Myers the 9th. Should have plenty of pitching left for the next two games. Pinckney, Johnson and Williamson with home runs. Awesome win over the 5th ranked team. Come out and help lift this team up and win this series!

(note: the write up says 10 hits - the box score shows 11)

Trio of Homers Power Baseball to 11-2 Win over No. 5 Vanderbilt

The Tide used three homers to account for eight runs in the series-opening win

Three homers powered Alabama baseball to an 11-2 win over fifth-ranked Vanderbilt on Thursday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The series-opening victory moved the Crimson Tide to 31-15 on the season and 10-12 in Southeastern Conference play.

Alabama totaled 10 hits, including three home runs, and scored in five of the eight innings on Thursday. The scoring was highlighted by a pair of four-run frames in the second and eighth innings. The huge second came by way a of grand slam from Andrew Pinckney. The redshirt junior finished his night 2-for-2 with the grand slam, two walks, two runs and a team-high five RBI. The eighth included a three-run shot from Drew Williamson, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored. Also homering was Ed Johnson, part of a 2-for-3 showing that included an RBI, one run and a walk.

The Tide's early offense allowed Luke Holman (6-2) to settle in for his team-high sixth win. The sophomore tossed 7.0 innings of two-run ball, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out seven across his career-high 98 pitches. He then turned the ball over to his bullpen with Alton Davis II and Braylon Myers holding Vanderbilt scoreless over the final 2.0 frames.

From Interim Head Coach Jason Jackson
"It was great to be back at home. Our fans were awesome. They really got behind the guys, and our guys feel that. Sometimes you go on the road, you got that 'you against the world' mentality, and you feed off of that. But after back-to-back weeks of (roadtrips), it was nice to be back at The Joe, nice to be back in front of our home crowd. I thought the crowd was awesome and provided an extra spark for our guys tonight."

Or, sometimes you go on the road and your head coach makes sure you lose because he's a degenerate gambler.

TNews take on candidates for the next coach

Who will replace Brad Bohannon? Here's some head coaching targets for Alabama baseball.

Scott Berry, Southern Miss
Berry has been with the Golden Eagles as an assistant or head coach since 2001. Since he was promoted to head coach in 2010, he's won over 500 games, four Conference USA Tournaments, four Conference USA Coach of the Year Awards, and has taken Southern Miss to eight NCAA Tournaments.

Gary Gilmore, Coastal Carolina
Gilmore has won more than 1,000 games in nearly three decades for the Chanticleers, culminating in a 2016 College World Series championship, the first for the Chanticleers. Gilmore has coached Coastal Carolina to 17 NCAA Tournament appearances and three Super Regionals, including the national championship season.

Cliff Godwin, East Carolina
In his nine seasons with the Pirates, Godwin has taken ECU to six NCAA Tournaments, including four Super Regionals. He's a four-time American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, including three times in a four-year stretch from 2019-22.

Chuck Jeroloman, Florida
Jeroloman has served as the hitting coach throughout his four seasons with the Gators. His best work may be happening right now, as sophomore star Jac Caglianone has a program record-tying 26 home runs, enough to lead not only the SEC, but all of college baseball.

Wes Johnson, LSU
Johnson shocked Major League Baseball last year when he resigned as the Minnesota Twins' pitching coach to take the same position with the Tigers. In his first season in Baton Rouge, the LSU pitching staff – led by Air Force transfer Paul Skenes – ranks near the top of the SEC in ERA, strikeouts, and opponent batting average.

Rob Vaughn, Maryland
The youngest head baseball coach in the Power Five, Vaughn is the reigning Big Ten Coach of the Year. In 2022, he led the Terrapins to a program-best 48-14 record, taking Maryland to its second consecutive NCAA Tournament.
