Not sure why he’s still out there in a 9 run game, though. Do we really have no trust in anyone else or just don’t want to give them any momentum going into tomorrow? He’s already at 42 pitches and I would have thought we could have saved him for more meaningful innings this weekend.

Never forget

2021 @ Arkansas
W 16-1
L 9-1
L 3-1

If we can win one out of the next two I will take it.

I don’t disagree with you. I think Bo was just trying to let him ride it out and ensure a win for us, but probably could have pulled him after two innings at like 15 pitches and let him pitch another time this weekend.

We do still have Woods (his 4 ERs against Samford completely skew his ERA), Probst, and Braylon Myers (his 3 ERs vs Columbia skew his ERA similarly to Woods) as all pretty lock-down relievers. Add in Quick and that’s 4 guys that can eat up a couple innings each and win us a ballgame.

We haven’t been able to finish when the game has been really close yet, so we’ll see how these next two go in that regard. A series win could do really well for us moving forward, especially after narrowly missing wins the past two weekends.

G Mac back in the dugout and not coaching first this game.

I had heard we might see him in Huntsville on Tuesday (which, of course didn’t happen). With him not on first base tonight, he must be getting close.

That’d be an awesome sight to see. Curious if they’ll bring him back in a relief role with the overall talent of the three starters we already have for the weekend. Tough to say who you’d pull to make room.

Hess is really showing he’s the guy now, Holman has possibly the best stuff on the team and is only building confidence, and Hitt is a little dash of control away from being a top 2-3 round pick. But also, how do you keep last year’s Friday night starter on the bench if he’s healthy? Good problem to have.

Nice win. Would be great to get a road series win to make up for the home series loss last weekend. Somehow grinding to .500 in conference would be a nice step forward.

I say we stretch the win streak over the Hogs to 6 and call it a weekend. 2 more 20 hit games should do it…lol

Great run production today but still left 13 men on base with Pinkney accounting for 6 of those. Pitching was strong. I hope the base hits carry over today as well.

I mean the team had 20+ hits, of course there's going to be quite a few guys LOB. Comes with the territory of a high offensive output.

Let's go ahead and get this W today and lock up a series win.

The Crimson Tide bats were on fire Friday night at Baum-Walker Stadium, powering Alabama baseball to a 12-1 victory over sixth-ranked Arkansas. With the win, the Crimson Tide improves to 21-6 overall and 3-4 in Southeastern Conference action.

Alabama's offense recorded a season-high 22 hits on the way to 12 runs for the win. The Tide scored in five of the nine innings with all nine starters recording at least one hit, including eight multi-hit performances. The bats also produced four home runs with one apiece from Drew Williamson, William Hamiter, Colby Shelton and Mac Guscette.

Williamson tied for the team lead in hits with three while adding two RBI, two runs and a walk. Shelton and Guscette each tallied two hits and two runs with Shelton adding a walk and an RBI while Guscette recorded two RBI to tie for the team-best mark. Caden Rose, Ed Johnson and Tommy Seidl each matched Williamson for the team lead in hits with three.

The Tide also received a strong performance from its pitching staff. Ben Hess (4-0) picked up the win in a shortened outing, tossing 4.0 innings and allowing one run on two hits with five punchouts. Hagan Banks followed, retiring all 12 batters he faced in order across his 4.0 relief frames, before Connor Ball worked a scoreless ninth.

From Head Coach Brad Bohannon
"It was just our night. It was one of those nights where we hit a lot of balls hard, everything that we hit found a hole and we pitched great. Ben Hess gave us a really good start, and Hagan Banks was outstanding in relief. We out-hit a team 22-3 – that just doesn't happen often. I'm really proud of our effort and hope we can carry this momentum into tomorrow."
