You make it seem a lot worse than it is. 18 and 20 seem more like outliers than the norm. With that level of talent we should absolutely be making Supers. A 10th ranked class with proper coaching and development can absolutely compete for championships.

Are those rankings based on who showed up to campus, or are the myriad of MLB draft picks who never made it to campus included as well?

Last year our highest ranked player (#30) got drafted in the second round and signed. Another two guys who were not very highly rated signed contracts. Riley Quick, whom we are kind of counting on out of the pen was ranked 292.

In 2021 we had three top 100 players, the middle guy (#49) signed a pro contract and another guy lower ranked did too.

In 2020 we had no one in the top 150 rankings.

In 2019 we had an amazing year in which we had commit the number 2 player in the country, the number 21 player and the 116th ranked player. All three of which signed pro contracts. So did two other guys.

Meanwhile in 2019 Vanderbilt had 7 commits in the top 100, including number 15 Jack Leiter, and 12 in the top 150, nine of which actually played at Vanderbilt.

In 2020 they had 6 in the top 100, four of which played for them and 8 in the top 150, six of which are still playing for them.

In 2019 LSU had commits from seven of the top 100, two of which stuck with them.

In 2020 they had five of the top 100, four of which stuck with them. Another two guys were in the top 120 and played with them.

In other years they had ridonkulous classes but gut hammered by the draft before guys ever swung a bat for them. but in 2022 they held onto the #19, #23, #45 and #67 ranked players. 2021 held onto #85 and #103.

So, we can see that the actual talent discrepancy between the #1 or #2 classes and #10 is vast.

Looking at the number of players included in the class score vs the players listed they're leaving out the guys who went pro.

For example the recruiting class last year is based on 15 players but there are 17 listed as commits. They leave out the 2 who signed pro.

We're up 1-0 after an inning and a half.

ETA: Still 1-0 going to the 3rd.

Two homeruns in the Top of the 4th push Alabama to a 4-1 lead.

Walk and a wild pitch puts a runner in scoring position for Arkansas.

Great at bat…from 0-2 to 3-2 and single on 10th pitch. Pitch count getting up there for Hollan

The boys are hitting tonight.

10 hits on a guy that shut down LSU two weeks ago and has given up 2 runs in two Friday night starts in conference play.
