Day One of Baseball’s Fall World Series Finishes at 12-0 with Crimson Leading
The teams will return to the diamond on Friday for game two of the three-day event
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball's Fall World Series got underway on Thursday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, with the Crimson team jumping out front to a 12-0 lead after five innings of play.
Aidan Moza got the start for Crimson, tossing 2.2 scoreless with a pair of punchouts. Evan Chaffee then contributed 1.1 innings of scoreless work with Austin Morris continuing the trend, blanking Gray with 1.0 scoreless frame.
The Crimson offense was led by Jim Jarvis, with the senior reaching base twice on a pair of hit-by-pitch and notching an RBI on a sacrifice fly. Jarvis also added two runs and a pair of stolen bases in as many tries. Fellow senior Drew Williamson recorded a pair of RBI while making an impressive sliding catch in foul territory to highlight the defense for both sides.

Alton Davis II highlighted the Crimson team's effort on the mound. Davis II tossed 4.0 innings of scoreless baseball while allowing only one hit. Braylon Myers was also solid in his outing, closing out the night for Crimson with three strikeouts in his 1.0 inning of work. Honestly don’t see how a QB can do it. But yes, good luck to him.
Keith Holcomb was the only guy I really recall having success on the diamond going back and forth and obviously he was much more limited in terms of his role on the football field.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball begins the 2023 campaign ranked No. 20 in D1Baseball.com's Preseason Top 25, the site announced on Tuesday.
The No. 20 ranking is the highest by any outlet so far this preseason and is the highest preseason ranking from D1 since the Crimson Tide opened the 2015 campaign at No. 20. Alabama is one of nine teams from the Southeastern Conference on D1's preseason list, including seven teams set in the top-10 of the poll. Of those seven teams, four are from the SEC Western Division – LSU (1), Ole Miss (4), Texas A&M (5) and Arkansas (8).
D1Baseball also released a list of the top 50 transfers in the conference on its SEC Extra site. The Tide had four players break the top 50, including Ed Johnson (18), Mac Guscette (28), Ryan Guardino (36) and Aidan Moza (39).

Baseball to Host Fan Day on Saturday, Feb. 4
Alabama baseball will host the team's 2023 Fan Day on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The day-long event will feature a Youth Clinic, autographs, and a tour of Sewell-Thomas Stadium prior to an intrasquad scrimmage (weather pending). An inflatable bounce house and slide, a face painter, Big Al and food trucks will also be on-site for those in attendance.
The morning begins with a Youth Clinic hosted by the Crimson Tide staff and players. The instructional session is open to children, 8-14 years old (non-high school aged), and is free to the first 100 kids to register online through https://www.alabamabaseballcamps.com/. Check-in for the clinic will begin at 9:45 a.m. CT with the instructional session running from 10-11 a.m.
Following the Youth Clinic, head coach Brad Bohannon will introduce the 2023 Crimson Tide roster. An autograph session and facility tour open to all attendees will also be a part of the 11 a.m.-12 p.m. window. The day will wrap up with a scrimmage at The Joe with first pitch set for 2 p.m.
