Terrible news from South Carolina. Prayers up for the Heller family.

Oh my word, that is terrible! When I opened the link I was expecting a family member of his and not him.

Members of the NGU Baseball team wearing Davis Heller’s #33 jerseys during his recognition at the NGU football game yesterday. Still doesn’t seem real. RIP Davis.

For literally any other program he would be back in plenty of time for the season. For Bama, it's the end of his career here.

But for real he has plenty of time to heal I would think

Baseball Gains Valuable Experience in Exhibition with Mississippi State

Alabama baseball split a pair of seven-inning contests with the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Friday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

The Crimson Tide came out on top, 7-3, after the first seven innings of play. Andrew Pinckney led UA in hits with three, including a double, while Bryce Eblin was tops in RBI with his three coming on a bases-clearing double. Riley Quick highlighted the arms in the first half, tossing 2.0 scoreless frames with three strikeouts. Luke Holman got the start in game two, striking out three across 2.0 scoreless, hitless innings. State would go on to score four runs across the final five frames for a 4-0 win in game two.

Alabama will return to the diamond tomorrow for the week's final workout. Practice begins at 10:30 a.m. CT with an intrasquad scheduled for 12 p.m. to follow. The Crimson Tide will then spend next week preparing for an exhibition at Auburn on Friday, Oct. 28. First pitch at Plainsman Park is set for 6:30 p.m.

Crimson Tide Wraps up Fall Exhibition Slate following Friday’s Contest at Auburn

Alabama and Auburn battled for 12 innings on Friday evening at Plainsman Park

AUBURN, Ala. – Alabama baseball wrapped up its fall exhibition slate on Friday evening at Plainsman Park, squaring off with the Auburn Tigers.

Luke Holman got the start for the Crimson Tide and followed up last weekend's outing with another impressive performance. The sophomore tossed 2.0 scoreless, hitless frames while posting three strikeouts. Riley Quick also contributed 2.0 scoreless frames, allowing one hit and issuing a walk while punching out three. Colby Shelton highlighted the Alabama offense, bringing in three runs on an RBI-double. Joining Shelton with doubles were Andrew Pinckney and Ed Johnson, while Caden Rose tripled, and Will Hodo homered against the Tigers.

Alabama will use Saturday as an off day before wrapping up the week with a Sunday workout at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Practice is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. CT with a scrimmage to follow, first pitch set for 2 p.m.

Head Coach Brad Bohannon
Overall thoughts on the night:
"I really appreciate Auburn having us down for an exhibition. We were able to get a lot of guys in the game, and we learned a lot about our team, a lot about some individual players, tonight. It's been a really good fall for us so far, and we've grown a lot over the last few weeks. We're going to finish up next week with our Fall World Series. Hopefully we can continue to grow during this final week and carry that momentum into the spring as we prepare for the new season."

According to Rick, Bama was ahead after 6, but it sounds like it was one big 12 inning game
