That is true. It still leaves the matter of playing Saturday and then again on Sunday with regionals beginning on Friday. I guess that is about the same as regular week-to-week SEC play, however, top tier starters have already thrown this weekend. I predict with 90% surety that we are about to see the depths of teams' rotations, with some guys going longer than they may have all season, and some 12-10 type ballgames.

Correct. Would not have to beat UF twice. They changed this when they expanded the tournament to make the semifinals better for TV and probably at the request of the coaches to be honest.

As far back as Warren Nolan goes. Of course, 2010 was the last time we advanced out of the regionals (Peanut dominating Tech and losing 2 straight to Clemson in the Supers).
I think at this point, regardless of postseason success, this is the best team we've had since 2009 (who had about as disappointing a regional as I can ever remember) or maybe even 2006 (the stacked team that lost to a stacked UNC team in the home supers).

Just checked the Big 12 and ACC tournament brackets and they are full double elimination.
That's kinda dumb when the best conference in the country has moved to save their arms in their own tournament.

Players that are currently out and the nature of their injury.
I know of at least one pitcher out entire year and am not sure if next season is ok for him to pitch. Jean with Tommy John right?
Hitt and Hayslipp are out and I am not sure the nature of their injury

It’s called Johnny Wholestaff for a reason. Jackson will have to run one of our young arms out there and hope to get a few innings out of him with limited damage, then move to another. Jim Wells used to be a master at this when it came tournament time. He’s run a guy out there that had maybe 6-7IP on the season and the kid would deal for 7-8 innings!!

Georgia just fired Scott Stricklin.
Seems we won't be the only SEC program looking for a new head coach this offseason.
