quote:

Alabama baseball opens the fall season Friday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium as the Crimson Tide is set to take part in its first practice.

The full-team session will be the 2021-22 group's first of the year, as the Tide has been taking part in individual instruction prior to Friday afternoon. Alabama will kick things off on Friday with a practice-scrimmage split at The Joe. The workout begins at 2:15 p.m. CT with first pitch of the intrasquad scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Saturday is set for an 11:30 a.m. start to practice followed by a 1 p.m. first pitch in the scrimmage.

All scrimmages are subject to change. The length will be determined on a game-to-game basis. Spaced out between scrimmages are the team's regularly scheduled practice sessions. Dates and times of all practices and scrimmages for the upcoming week can be found on RollTide.com each Monday.

Admission to Alabama baseball's on-field activity is free to the public. Fans are asked to enter Sewell-Thomas Stadium through the main gate (Gate 3) located directly behind home plate. Once inside, fans are to stay in the lower bowl seating area with access to the upper levels of the stadium strictly prohibited.

Updates and changes to practice times or complete cancellations due to weather can be accessed via Twitter (@AlabamaBSB) or on the Crimson Tide's Facebook page.

The Fall Season is Officially Underway for Baseball following Friday’s First Full-Team Practice

Alabama baseball returned to the diamond on Friday afternoon for its first full-team practice of the Fall. The Crimson Tide opened with skill work before taking part in an intrasquad scrimmage on an overcast day at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

"The first day of team practice is always a lot of fun," said head coach Brad Bohannon. "These kids really like to play baseball. We have more experience than we have had in the past, and it shows in the way we practice and play. I'm excited to see how we grow in the next few weeks."

The Crimson Tide returns to the diamond tomorrow afternoon for an 11:30 a.m. CT workout followed by a 1 p.m. first pitch in the second scrimmage of the weekend. Sunday will be an off day for the team.

Was a good power bat at Hillcrest. Shelton generally does a good job getting guys ready so hopefully he'll give us a solid bat.
