Is he seriously letting Rose hit here?
Posted on 5/7/21 at 8:53 pm to SummerOfGeorge
That was the ballgame. Why the hell didn't he pinch hit there?

so where are the Bo fans. another weak AB for Rose with two outs and runners in scoring position.

Again, what does this even mean?

By my count, Rose has saved 4 runs this year by making great diving catches in center but has struck out 152 times with RISP.

Is there a pro and anti Bo war raging that I've missed?

It’s subtle. But I’m sensing it.

Alabama Baseball Falls in Series Opener at No. 2 Vanderbilt, 9-6
A productive outing in the batter's box against one of the nation's top pitchers was not enough to overcome a rocky night on the mound for the Crimson Tide
Baseball Falls at No. 2 Vanderbilt, 9-6, on Friday
The two teams traded leads in the third and fourth innings with Vandy coming out on top

my point is after 3.5 years we are seeing some improvement in the team but there are decisions he makes like starting Rose in CP and not pinch hitting for him with the game on the line with him batting under 200 is a head scratcher. OUr starting pitcher was struggling and he should have been pulled before they went up 8-6. Rocker was horrible last night and this was Bama's chance to steal one with all the runners we left on base.

Yeah? Who were you going to put in? I doubt that you know who all of our pitchers are, much less their ERA and how they’ve performed in their previous outings.
There is a reason that Ras got that start and for why he stayed in the game. Coach has watched these guys for years. He knows who has what stuff. He knows who performed better in scrimmages. He knows who has performed better in previous games. He knows who has the best mental make up. He’s not an arm chair coach with the benefit of hindsight.
Just because a second pitcher came in and did well does not mean that if Bo had put the hook on Ras earlier that the guy would have lead us to victory. One cannot predict things with 100% accuracy like that.
It’s been a brutal year injury wise. There’s no way that Bo predicts to lose his top two pitchers. Prielipp hasn’t pitched much at all against SEC quality hitters, but judging from outside conference performance, one would have to figure that if he kept things going AND performed to his standard, he would have given us a very good chance last night. Nevertheless, maybe had Prielipp pitched then Rocker would have been on and our bats silent and he would have lost 2-0. Baseball is an unpredictable game.
As to playing Rose. Who were you going to put there? Sometimes teams play defense over offense and hope that their hitters show up. Most of our good hitters didn’t show up. They were also going against probably the first pick in this year’s draft. With a guy like Rocker on the mound, I might assume that my better hitting but defensively weaker CF is going to fail at the plate and look to get better defense up the middle. Besides, With our injuries this year, we don’t even know who is available to play.
Let’s lighten up here. We were playing the number 2 team in the country. Even if we were as talented as they are, stuff happens. Teams lose unexpectedly in baseball.

RHP Jack Leiter has been scratched from his start today against Alabama as #Vandy continues to monitor his workload. He will get the weekend off from pitching. Obviously, something to keep an eye on going into next week. #MLBDraft #VandyBoys

all OF's who have played a significant number of innings have a higher BA then Rose.
