Last week I stated vs. Ark. & AM we had to go at least 3-3 or 4-2. Considering we gave up 37 runs in three games I will take 1-2 lol. Need to start wining same games now. Again, UGA and UK were not expected to be this good, our schedule heretofore in the SEC has been brutal. Missing pictures doesn't hell. Losing a few who should of won hurts bad. Just switching a couple games we gave away would have us 9-9.

No doubt

3-3 versus #1 ranked teams in two weeks is solid

Needed that one badly to stop the bleeding. 24 runs in 3 games is pretty good.

Nerve wracking as all get out but a huge win today. Another good outing by Adams on the mound and Fay was much better today as well. Alton went the rest of the way with his longest outing of the year. Sixteen hits for the good guys (including another granny for Mac). Gage and Kade with home runs too. So happy for the guys. Need to take care of business against Samford Tuesday and Ole Miss this weekend (another Thursday/Friday/Saturday series). Hope Hess is OK and able to go. Really could use all three of those conference games.

Alabama baseball claimed a 10-9 win over top-ranked Texas A&M on Saturday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the victory, the Crimson Tide is 25-15 on the season and 7-11 in Southeastern Conference play.

Saturday's series finale saw one tie and three lead changes over the course of the game. Alabama jumped out to an early lead with five runs in the second. The Aggies plated two in the top of the third with UA countering for one in the home half. A&M added three in the fourth with the Tide crossing one in the fifth to make it a 7-5 ballgame in favor of UA headed to the sixth.

The sixth saw the Aggies take their first lead of the day with three runs, but the lead would not last long as Alabama scored one in the sixth to make it 8-8 after six full. In the seventh, Texas A&M plated one to gain the advantage once again, but a two-run home half put the Crimson Tide in front, 10-9 – the eventual final. The Tide's two runs came across thanks to a bases-loaded one-out single from Bryce Eblin.

Texas A&M was held scoreless over the final two frames thanks to a standout effort from Alton Davis II (4-1). The sophomore earned the win after working the final 3.1 innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with three punchouts. His biggest moment came in the ninth when he stranded a pair in scoring position thanks to two flyouts and a strikeout looking.

Alabama's offense was led once again by Mac Guscette, who finished 2-for-3 with a grand slam, five RBI and one run scored. Eblin contributed the two key RBI as part of his 2-for-4 day that included a run scored, while Kade Snell led in hits with a 5-for-5 showing that was highlighted by a solo homer.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"There are plenty of things that we could have done better, but all I wanted to see from these guys was energy, toughness and focus – that was something we talked about that in our team meeting today. There was no question that they brought that out here. Whether we won or lost that game, there was no question about the energy we brought. This was a heck of an effort. I'm proud of this group, proud of their toughness and proud of how they responded after a long day yesterday. It was just a heck of a team win for us."

Our bats were on fire. I never thought a game we’d have 16 hits could feel so nerve racking.

Yes - he took a line drive to his foot/ankle in the second inning and had to come out. Sam Michell came in to handle the second inning, then Coulson Buchanan, then Jansen Kenty then Aidan Moza wound up the day.

I was at the game today. Atmosphere was electric! 5+2 early. We had some good hitting... Couple errors mid game let the shots back in. Aggies are really really good... Team full of hitters that can place the ball and get on base. Their relief pitcher in the 8th was throwing 97!! AD did great pitching in the ninth...ump went a little blind on the strike zone, but he kept battling. Pop up for final out was excellent teamwork and very satisfying.

Last two series against Arkansas and Aggies was a tough stretch

Alabama’s bats were on fire this weekend against #1 Texas A&M. Tide scored 24 runs, which tied the most that the Aggies had surrendered this season in a series. Cranked out 41 hits and bashed eight home runs, including a pair of grand slams by Mac Guscette.

Any word on Matthew and if he’ll be back this series?

He apparently is dealing with an injury of some sort. No specific details but it sounds like it needs rest vs surgery from what I heard this weekend. No eta for when he will return. Hopefully sooner rather than later (if he’s healthy).
