NS made a quote I think a week or so ago that he is close to being one of th best 5 OL and he is seeing significant snaps during the game in non blowout time. I think he is pushing 79 hard for PT. and if not this year he will probably be the starter at RT next year.

One consideration:

- RN started from Game 1
- AR has slowly had his playing time increased and I would guess he has 1/2 to 2/3 of RN's total snaps.

- Grant Hill looked like a BEAST on run blocking...and Saban knows it.

If Hill keeps improving, my guess is that his final spot will be LT next year when CK goes to the draft.

It would have been nice to have him team up with Eddie Vanderdoes.

It's so good to see some positive talk about our team. A single tear came to my eye while reading this. But don't stop now, please, continue.

I love this Grant Hill monster.

Anyone see where he jumped offsides on a PAT(Saban got pissed) and Hill immediately took off sprinting towards the sidelines.

And then the announcer yelled "O know, he's running right
towards it!!!"

Roll Tide.

You know, last year it was all about the new guys. New guys playing key roles on the team. Yeldon, Cooper, Belue (JUCO), and this year we've had the same thing happen, but it's been in different ways.

The trenches.

Grant Hill on the OL, A'Shawn and to a lesser extent Allen on the DL.

Im excited about the young guys as well. On another note...I would've never thought that Ragland would be the odd man out at LB. I mean he doesn't even get in on mop up duty. Also surprised that Alec Morris got passes by Del Rio.

He's a Nico Johnson-type backer. I doubt he ever sees the field much against spread teams. I think he'll see some PT in the next few years vs. the more power-oriented offenses.

That's really been the case every single year Saban has been at Bama.

But it was a bigger deal last year, at least to the media. This year we're getting guys contributing big time in the trenches, and they don't talk about it. Goes to show some people really just don't respect the big guys as much as they should.

It is great to see a player of his age making a huge contribution. Not many 55 year olds can play at the level he is at right now.

Part of "The Process" requires contribution from first year players. Saban plans on some of those high star players only being on campus 3 years. Get them ready to be front line guys by year two. In doing so, he is showing futue high star players that they can play early if they put in the work. Helps keep other coaches from getting away with saying "you can play early here but will be on the bench at Bama". They can say it but Saban can point to his history.
