Appreciation Thread: Crowd Participation This Year

Tide fans have brought it this year. The Texas crowd was very solid but the inability to keep momentum on the field stifled it a bit. However the team coming out strong in the 2nd half against Tennessee completely ignited the fanbase and we haven’t looked back. Then against LSU we set the single play noise record at BDS on the Arnold pick. Not only that but the crowd was consistently loud all game
Now to the UGA game. I said in the pregame that the crowd was 60/40 at worst. Amazing job just being there as a TD underdog in UGAs back yard. I can also say without exaggeration that this was the loudest neutral site Bama crowd I have ever been apart of. My section in the upper deck was absolutely rabid and the noise level was high even up there.
Awesome job by everyone that has contributed this year

Amen. Fans were awesome this year and the SECCG was our magnum opus.
It's the first time I've been to the SECCG since 2009 where our fanbase was absolutely engaged and electric from 30 minutes out until the final confetti fell.

It was an awesome home schedule this year. Most fun I've had in BD in a few years. Wish my dad had been around to see it.

I was there for both the Tennessee and LSU games and you're right the crowds were fantastic. I have to ask though did they record the noise for the scoop and score in the Tennessee game because I thought that moment was the loudest I have ever heard a stadium? The Arnold pick was loud but I think the Tennessee game had the loudest moments.

It was close but this might have been the loudest for me.

LSU second half leading into and following Dixieland Delight was the loudest sustained period I've ever heard at Bryant-Denny and I've been to every major home game since before Saban.
The pre-endzone enclosure games weren't close because the sound escaped and the crowd was smaller.
Objectively there were individual plays that reached that level (Rocky Block, etc) in the past or might've exceeded it for a short peak.
But 2023 LSU 3rd quarter into mid 4th quarter was deafening and pretty much sustained. Even the LSU fans who were there were shocked by it.

Josh Pate said the crowd in Atlanta was in his top 3 of all time, which surprised me because I know he’s been to a ton of big games and neutral site games usually can’t compare to home games.

Loudest BD has ever been for me was the Georgia game in 1994. Never been in a game anywhere that's been louder start to finish. The 2011 LSU game was probably #2 and this years LSU game would be #3 for me.

Agreed LSU was the loudest BDS has been in my section on a consistent basis.
SECCG was the same. 113 was rocking.
This team is so likeable.

I'd forgotton that one. Amazing atmosphere right up until Prothro's injury. Still think his leg was first injured on the kick return. Took a helmet directly to that shin/ankle.

I was at this year’s LSU game. Best I have ever seen in BDS. I’m sure these doesn’t compare but the following three individual plays I always remember for the noise level (which I was in the stadium), were (in chronological order)
1. Bo goes wrong way and Rory Turner “waxed the dude.”
2. Van Tiffen kick.
3. Three play series of Bennett sacking
Steve Beuerlein ending with Greg Richardson returning the punt for a touchdown. Demons were exorcized that day.

First SECCG I had been to since 2009 and I still don’t have my voice back.

The fans were hungry too this year. Revenge tour 2023, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia. Texas, you’re next.

I missed this thread... it deserves a bump. I believe the crowd noise impacted LSU to the point they 'blinked first' with penalties, dropped passes, and out for no points after their opening drive in the 3rd.
If so, as w/ Tennessee, the crowd helped get Bama to where they are now.
Hope the lucky few who represent in California can represent.

Sadly I bet it’ll be 65-35. All factors favor Michigan. Playoff games are still fresh to them and they have a much larger base out there with double our enrollment overall in previous decades
The good news is that the Rose Bowl is arguably the worst sound trapping stadium in football

Florida 2005 and AU 2008 were loudest. The Charlie Pephrah pick in 2002 vs Georgia was up there. I was not at the game in 1994 but that is surprising with only one the East side upper deck at the time in BDS.
