This country has never been hurting for answers, we are hurting for execution. Countries that have had excellent success treating this disease so far have had great buy-in by their citizens. They aren't politically given the option to be of two minds. They simply do what they're told. A very novel idea.

BamaBo, you should run for office. You are one level headed guy. Your talents are being underutilized as a football coach. You and a couple of other posters on here keep me sane because I know some people are actually conscious and capable of critical thinking.

If you're asking me if this government is capable of putting out a unified message about COVID strategy that is of one mind? No, that's the point.

That's precisely the point. Why the hell should we listen to the government on issues as simple as face masks when, just three months ago, they were telling us to avoid them because they don't work? They're telling us they had to lie so we wouldn't buy them in bulk and take them away from healthcare workers. Why should I trust they're telling the truth when they lied to us for so long about something so simple?

Why should the government have to? Our family has had a medical mask in my home since March. I watched the doctors on my cable TV and I listened to the science of what we were trying to accomplish. I had access to all the worldwide info on countries that are having success. Back when the Utah basketball player tested positive I knew what my family would be doing and we are still doing it. It hasn't changed once.
What Trump and his family decide to do is their business, not mine. Now, if he gives me a call, I'll still be glad to share what I know. It's ain't politics, it's survival.

It’s as simple as this. China lied to the world and with help from the WHO and the democrats to run interference for them. That virus was all over the world in Nov.
The President takes advice from the CDC, like any President would in a event like this. He followed the CDC advice. Even when the WHO said no need to worry. Meanwhile China was letting flights out of their country while restricting travel inside their country. Spreading that shite everywhere!!!
You can babble your shite all you want. But the truth of the matter is China absolutely knew what they was doing with this virus. Their economy was on the skids while our economy was fricking exploding. But I guess that’s all bullshite and lies, right?

Once the virus hit the our country, there wasn’t a good way to handle it. I don’t care if it was Obama in office, you can’t control a virus. We can’t even control the flu, but folks are thinking we can stop this shite. Be realistic

Nowhere have I said anything about stopping it. A host of other countries though have effectively contained it, while we're still seeing massive spread of it here. And I recognize there are cultural, political, and geographical challenges we face that other countries do not, so it is a bigger challenge for us. But that's no excuse to just throw our hands up and decide to just let it run its course while hoping for the best. That is surrender.
Anyway, that's my last post in this thread since it wasn't intended to be another tired debate on the subject.

You are quoting from the Declaration of Independence, which was a statement of reasons for our break away from the British Empire. I was quoting from the United States Constitution, a document that is the law of the land.

Except I keep reading people are getting killed via gunfire. Was it not just last week in Atlanta during one of these so called demonstrations a mother with her daughter were shot in their car killing the little girl? Sounds peaceful to me.

All noble ideas with extremely poor execution. When those founding fathers spoke of all men being equal is was with the obvious exception of African Americans and Native Americans that as things turned out weren't really men, so no rights were violated. It excluded women's right to have a say in government and vote because they were considered "simpletons" in such matters, and not capable of "independent" thought. So much for the "majority" rule.

It's funny to me that so many people feel so strongly about not judging all cops due to actions of a few "bad apples", while at the same time cherry picking isolated events and applying them as representative of the protests.
