Yea, my first thought was for the kids. Most of these young guys play because they love the game. They know that they won’t play college ball, so they make the most out of every Friday night.

I see now where Jackson Public Schools haven’t canceled football. Did they rethink the decision or someone just leak earlier than they wanted?

Unbelievable we are in this situation because so many refuse such a simple thing as wearing a mask.
It doesn’t have to do with that lol.

Masks don't work.
Japan is seeing a surge in cases and they wear masks year round.
Hell, the masks even come with a warning that they don't stop the spread of the fricking virus.

There you go. No arguing with that type of science.

Let me give you another scientific fact: NOT wearing a mask damn sure doesn't stop the virus.
So what do you have to lose by wearing one??

Masks mitigate risk but don't entirely eliminate risk. The science is definitely divided on their usefulness but I have no problem wearing one if it means there's a chance they could be beneficial in "stopping the spread."

I don't get it either. In this world, you can talk yourself in and out of most anything. But some of this nonsense is like watching a man jump off a 20 story skyscraper and all the way down you can hear him screaming, so far, so good.

Clay Travis said he believes the SEC and the B12 will try to play 12 games. He also ripped into the negative media (on wjox), and social media. Travis said certain members of the media, and you know who they are, constantly report and beat the drum on anything that is negative. They never report all the positive news out there. Travis said 72% of the public believe the press is trying to stop college sports from being played.

Doesn't really matter. 12 members of the Miami Marlins just tested positive over the weekend on their trip to Phillie. Unless the press is in actuality contagious themselves, these actual cases are plenty enough data for players, owners and fans to make the ultimate call.

beat that drum! While the rest of the league is continuing to play.

Do you mean the NBA and NHL that are trying to finish the season with their playoffs? Both leagues have built-in logistics to maximize their probability of success by entering a "bubble" environment. The "bubble" is hopefully buying enough time for these players to exercise better judgment, control the environment around them, and bring a proper conclusion to their season. No guarantees, just a lot different from the rest of the sport's world.
No "bubble" to save these baseball and football players from themselves and others and we are talking for a much longer period of time before the season is said and done.

It was leaked out early.. I got a call from the district office yesterday on my cell phone. They told me it was canceled with more details to come. Looking at spring but that would be hard to work out.
I know a lot of push back is coming.. so maybe that’s what has possibly halted it.. but the call yesterday was an official call from the district supervisor. I haven’t had any call to correct it yet from the district. Just what we all saw in the paper today.

Would I be correct in assuming that it really means the district office announced it to the coaches and immediately some influential people made a couple of phone calls and got that decision reversed for the time being?

I'm still wearing one every time I walk into a store.
However, they still don't work. If they did the manufacturing companies wouldn't put the disclaimer on the box.

The good news is that in the HEALS act there is almost no liability for businesses now due to covid. That should pass by August 5th so I think the season will still happen

Do you still need a set of instructions on life and how to live it? On July 20th our president and fearless leader finally told America it's time to wear a mask and be 'responsible in your social distancing.' He called it a 'patriotic' act, that they should be worn 'whether you like them or not.' He also warned that the virus' 'would be getting worse before it gets better.'
So, there you have it. After 5 months and over 150,000 deaths in this country, our leader has either been abducted by aliens, been replaced by "Dave" or finally been prescribed the right dosage of meds.
Regardless, it's now unanimous, Nick Saban and Donald Trump finally agree on this mask thing. What's any self-respecting Bama fan living in the deep south left to do?

I think you need to crawl back in your safe space now. Play with a puppy maybe even have a good cry.
You think a paper thin or cloth mask is the answer?
I’m out in public just as much as anyone and I don’t wear a mask but I’ll put one on if I go into a business that asks me to do so
Ppl need to wash their nasty fricking hands and stop touching shite They don’t need to be touching then rubbing their face or picking their fricking nose.
Use some common fricking sense for a change. When I see them wearing a hazmat suit with supplied air, I know the shite has hit the fan then.
