Averaging just over 303 yards per game. Granted that stat line is greatly aided by the 496 yards we put up on Vanderbilt on Saturday. Only Tulsa, Army, Navy, and Georgia Tech average more yards per game on the ground.

I really like where this offense is heading. We have a stable of impeccable running backs and an improving offensive line for them to run behind. Plus we have a QB who can run the ball himself. I almost want us to become more of a read option oriented offense this year. We have the tools to do that as well as weapons at WR that will make you pay should you over commit to the run.

All the programs ahead of Alabama run some variation of an option offense, except Tulsa.

Tulsa has played:
OKST L59-24
ULL W66-42
TOL L54-51
UNM L16-13

They've got 4 decent backs against the above competition.

NAME CAR YDS AVG LONG TD
D'Angelo Brewer 114 578 5.1 60 5
Shamari Brooks 47 276 5.9 63 (TD) 4
Chad President 34 210 6.2 48 4
Corey Taylor II 34 179 5.3 55 (TD) 4

Comparatively, Bama has some impressive statistics as well against tougher competition.

Jalen Hurts 45 360 8.0 55 (TD) 3
Damien Harris 38 309 8.1 61 (TD) 6
Bo Scarbrough 44 221 5.0 19 3
Najee Harris 30 156 5.2 25 0
Brian Robinson Jr. 5 51 10.2 17 (TD) 1
Ronnie Clark 10 48 4.8 19 0
Josh Jacobs 5 34 6.8 13 0
Tua Tagovailoa 4 22 5.5 22 0

Going to be another 400 yard rushing game for the Tide this weekend.

Ole Miss did look soft as shite against the run. I hope we get the same results. DH or Bo about to go off.

He had the exact same amount of carries through 4 games last year. His current rate is slightly fewer than last year.

Damien has 2 fewer carries at this point versus last year. Bo is who has ate up the carries (up to 44 vs. 26 last year through 4 games).

But injuries can happen at any time, that's football. But Jalen has a running style that reminds me a bit of Shaun Alexander. He's so effortless and smooth, that he never seems to get hammered. Most tackles appear to be on his terms and not his opponents.

No doubt but there are reasons why QBs wear black in practice. QBs are fragile creatures.

Which is why he practices falling on his terms. But you never know of course.

He falls and usually curls up so no one can step on his hands or feet.

What's crazy is if Bo and Harris leave after this year, we still have Jacobs, Najee, and now Brian Robinson next year.

He's also atypically strong, especially so for a QB. That should help him stay healthy.

And on the OL we should have Jonah back at LT, MAYBE Ross back at LG, Cotton back at RG, and Womack/Willis back at RT.

If Piersbacher goes pro maybe Womack to Guard and Willis starts at RT? Either way, should be an OL with plenty of experience.

Need to start doing the jumbo package more. Not just at goaline situations.

One more gif, but watch Jonah Williams take two blockers out on this run.
