Tua doesn’t need to feel pity for Jalen.. he need to gain control of the team leader role
While I am concerned, players like Cashner are considered veteran leaders even though they don't play much.
Still hoping Tua's ability is just too much to sit

Maybe these kids aren't as selfish as posters are this board are..Football is still a team sport.

This will piss off a lot of people.
Still got over a week to game time, a lot of things can change between now and then...let's see how it plays out before we get all pissy...
And why did you take this over to the Rant? I'm sure you'll get a lot of interesting insight over there...

It seems reasonable that both would play against L'vlle and then a starter will settle in....I'm not sure what "defer leadership" means. I am pretty sure Saban will handle it.

Especially with the wide receivers.

After that Saban thought extremely high of him.
In the end, I think he's going to think most highly of Tua's ability to distribute the ball. That's what he's been hinting at all offseason, even at the end of last year. I'm sure Jalen will get his shot to show what he can do, but he's never going to consistently outshine Tua as a QB. He's just not talented enough. I hope Saban doesn't fall prey to making emotional decisions. I can't imagine he will.

I don't know why you would run to the rant with it, and out Boz as our insider. That was our thing on the Bama board.

So something on a public site was a secret? How is that possible? These kinds of topics are meant for the rant.

If Jalen ends up being the main guy for the season, but really isn’t much better than last year, Tua will be justified in leaving. Hopefully that won’t be the situation.
I’ve had the feeling that no matter how things looked in camp, Jalen would start against Louisville. Good thing I ultimately trust Saban, because I’m not really a fan of this.

Message board etiquette. And the rant is full of trolls.

I’ll delete it. I didn’t know y’all had a thing like that. Sorry brethren.

They are obviously both going to play, but I will know Saban has lost his mojo if Jalen starts.

You don't have to delete it my man.

Tidal,
I get info all the time and update as soon as I can. That literally just hit me in the face. Trust me the difference to me is so apparently clear I don’t know how it could be this way.

Rillo,
I prefer things to remain here but obviously it’s public so I can’t really say anything. No worries.

My only fear with this whole "let both of them play equally to start the season and see who performs better" philosophy is that the first few games won't necessarily show us which QB is best suited to win all the games on our schedule (since none of the teams have good to elite defenses). Jalen is perfectly capable of shredding Louisville/Arky State/Ole Miss with his abilities. If he does that and Tua has a couple quarters where he is just off target throwing the ball, we may well end up in the exact same situation as last year on the back half of our schedule.

I’m sorry man, I deleted it. Don’t want to upset you. Thanks for all of your updates. I’ll know from now on.

I don’t know why this makes anyone angry. If Tua is that much better it’ll show in the 1st few games. We could start one of our walk-on qbs and would probably start 6-0
