Chris Williams isn't flipping.

He will take his OV to Alabama in a couple weeks. He is not visiting anywhere else.

@AndrewJBone: #Rivals100 LB Rashaan Evans let me know this evening he has decided to take his official visit to #Alabama on January 17..

@AndrewJBone: Evans will visit #UGA on January 24. He has yet to decide when he will visit #Auburn.

Glad we're getting an OV. I feel like the kid goes with AU in the end.

How many spots are left? Which recruits will get them?

I'm assuming at least two will belong to Marlon and Elam.

Magilla pointed out an OT from Illinois named Denzel Ward earlier today. I can't link his profile from my phone though.

24 commits, 8 guys already enrolled. I believe 26 was the number we could sign, so two spots open. I think a guy like Dwight may not end up in this class, and wasn't there a lot of talk that Jackson wouldn't qualify? That'd be four spots total.

Marlon, Elam, maybe Whitley if we can flip him back, and uh, I don't know at this point. I'm hoping Jackson qualifies.

I'm hoping we offer Gavin Bryant. Don't think it will happen though.

I'm all for giving Elam's offer to someone else, Reed and Frazier will do just fine in this class, and get Payne in 2015 class. I just feel like if we get Elam then Payne will probably end up at Auburn or fsu, plus Elam seems so overrated to me jmo.

I think Elam is more of a project anyway. I still want him, but he needs a lot of conditioning before he cracks the two deep.

reed and frazier both look special (frazier was the best lineman at the army game), but a guy like elam would be an absolute game changer in our scheme. he has the physical tools to do what cody did for us, ie always demand 2 blockers AND be disruptive with explosiveness (cody could only do it like 1 play at a time, elam looks to be in better shape). a player like him is especially important against a team like auburn because it gets you back to even at the line. auburn by scheme pretty much always has an advantage of an extra blocker at the line. its not really possible to consistently block elam with 1 player like you can block Ivory or Lake with a single OL. Couple that with being able to collapse the pocket with strength and explosiveness and you see why we really need a guy like him. a rare combination of massive size, strength, explosiveness, and athleticism.

Why did Bone say Evans set his visit for the 17th?

The title game is gives you all you need to know about defending the spread. Play 10 defensive line in drive long shifts. This means with the exception of our NG playing at 310 is not ideal. Beef up 2-3 NGs and put your DEs between 280-290 and you should be ready to go.

We have 24, but if you remember Bone said Pettway doesn't count toward our LOI for some reason, so that means we have 23. I think we can sign up to 26 given last year we left a spot open so that leaves three open spots.

If we can get some kids to grey shirt (Holcombe) that will give us even more space.

I hope we don't go for another lineman. For me it was Brian Wallace or bust and we busted. If we are just deadset on getting another guy I hope we go for a guard not a tackle. Hopefully Braden Smith who we wouldn't let commit earlier. Kid has had a good season and was a mauler at UA practices/game.

Wouldn't mind having four spots and closing with:

Marlon
Elam
Evans (long shot)
Braden Smith (not too realistic)

If we aren't going for another lineman and/or miss on Evans (very likely), I wouldn't mind someone like Malachi Dupre, Chad Thomas (long long shot), Tre Williams (too late to flip?).

Another point, I will say I am not a fan of Christian Miller visiting the same week as Rashaan Evans. We could lose out on both if we play things wrong.

Or if we landed both - future All Americans at Jack and Sam being single handedly the things that end the Spread offense.

All the EEs already singed papers so I believe if the loophole Tenn is using for this yr is to be believed none of those guys might count (not sure though)

I remember reading Pettway for sure only counts toward the 85 and not the class #'s

We had 8 EE's

Reed, Pettway, Brown, Big Cam, Sims, Hootie, Cornwell, & SDH

Again not entirely sure on how many spots we have left but I'm willing to bet if there is a loophole with those guys signing their PW and enrolling already Bama's using it

ETA: asked the Vols in their EE thread on the SEC Rb, they seem to think and have been told by mods etc the group they have enrolling don't count toward the 25 and that is how they are getting so many in their class, loophole provided with new paperwork instituted this yr for EEs seems to me like
