Publix won’t require a mask unless a government ordnance mandates it. They don’t want to offend a customer. Translation: we won’t do anything that might miss a buck.

Not really. Because of the nature of the illness there's no way you can trace it back to a trip to a retail location. The odds of contracting it on a trip to a retail store are so incredibly low no plaintiff attorney would mess with a case.
Actually that is not the case and why the government is trying to get in the next stimulus package coming out laws to prevent business, schools, colleges, and whatnot from being sued for reopening.

It's more of a PR move for the big stores. They get to put forward a positive image of doing what they can to fight the pandemic
To many states were already requiring them to do it so it makes since. In NC once the Governor mandated they had no choice if they wanted to stay open.

All the drive thru restaurants are doing that here. Plus pharmacies and banks only allow the vacuum to be used.

One of my coworkers is dead.
So yea, it exists in reality.

He passed in the initial wave back in early May. Early 60s, no preexisting conditions, got the virus and within a few days was on a ventilator. Died about 2 weeks later. Great guy, healthy, tax wiz with a wife and a bunch of young grandkids. Was pretty devastating.
We've got multiple folks from our church currently in the hospital including a 3 year old.
Folks can debate what types of measures to take in response all they want. However, count yourself lucky if you haven't been personally touched by this disease.....and realize others have been before you speak for the entire country as if your experience is the same as everyone else's.

Blount County Sheriff Mark Moon’s deputies won’t be enforcing Gov. Kay Ivey’s order mandating Alabamians wear masks when out in public starting Thursday, saying his office has higher priorities than punishing people for not wearing the protection, according to a published report.
“I don’t have enough people to go around looking for people not wearing a mask when I have all these other things like drugs, burglaries and thefts,” Moon told the Trussville Tribune. “I have a whole lot of other things I have to worry about.”
Moon could not be reached for comment by AL.com to confirm the Tribune’s report.
Blount County’s top cop also told the paper that he doesn’t believe Ivey’s order is legal.
“It’s not that I don’t believe that this is a real virus,” he said . “It’s not that I don’t believe this thing is highly contagious. It’s not that I don’t think we should take precautions to protect ourselves, but I just don’t believe forcing people to wear that mask is constitutional.”

I just don't see law enforcement, in this environment, rolling up on people and enforcing mask wearing decrees.
And honestly, I think the government knows that. I also think they know 2/3 of people will wear a mask to follow the rules, so even without enforcement it will help them get to their goal.

Ivey said exactly that in her press conference.

Yes, I know someone who has died. I know others who have been hospitalized. One spent six weeks on a ventilator. Many hospital COVID floors are currently at capacity in several cities across the country.
Anecdotally, my daughter was assigned to a COVID floor at a large hospital at the beginning of this month. The only patients they have extubated since she's been there were dead.
All of that exists in reality. Your meme is pretty fricking low IQ. Pretending it isn't real is as stupid as Robot Santa pretending that no one is economically harmed by shutdowns.

Link? If you want to bait me into arguing with you you could at least use something I actually said. Disagree with it if you want, but at least be honest.

They won't. That guy is just looking for his 15 minutes of fame.
What law enforcement may do is intervene when a business calls them because a person refusing to wear a mask in their business is causing a scene.

He specifically said he would not force businesses or churches to require it. He also is a pastor.

Won't force is one thing, but when the Walmart calls him because someone started a fight over not wearing a mask, he'll respond.
On a semi-related note, he arrested an old neighbor of mine yesterday whose life has pretty much been a wreck for years. He made her wear a mask while she was in his custody.

I was in a Walmart yesterday and it was a zoo. One older gentleman screamed at a young woman and child, both with no mask, to stop crowding him during checkout. He yelled at her "GET BACK, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU"? The younger lady apologized and both immediately moved back. Another older lady, without a mask, standing behind me in line kept crowding us and was not acknowledging the 2-foot rule much less 6. So I asked the lady, "did you not hear what the older gentlemen just screamed out at the top of his voice"? Her response, "he wasn't talking to me." I had to literally tell this older lady, "well, I am, please get back."
I asked the cashier how often you are hearing folks warning others about keeping distance and wearing a mask in these checkout lines? She said all day.
Folks in Asia are shaking their heads and openly talking about the stupidity in which we keep handling this thing. Even being willing to exercise a little caution and thinking about someone besides yourself means nothing to a lot of people, young and old alike. And when it comes to results, it's exactly what we're getting in this country, almost nothing.

Well, I would just try to stay out of the Walmart zoo if I were you.
And, if we were all Asians, we wouldnt have protests, shootings, rioting, looting, young males without parents that will shoot someone without giving it a second thought.
At least, nothing like we have here.

Didn't take you long to move on to something else.
The real issue is that in Asia they "listen" to science and in America, we would rather "politicize" our science.
