I hope he comes here but doubt he does. We are in good shape with Watford though, which is more important imo.

You really underestimate how big of a deal having a connection is. You were dismissing the Hardaway hire and now the Crean hire.

And u are underestimating the connection Watford has with herb Jones and btw I'm not the only one questioning Penny's hire so it's funny you choose to single me out lol.

Crean will be a challenge, but don't count out Avery. Keep in mind Crean didn't even offer Trendon when he was at Indiana, so he hasn't been on him like Avery has. I think Crean's main priority needs to be in state guys also.

I'm not saying g Watford is UGA bound, but to suggest that Watford is in "great shape" after Crean is hired at a SEC school is a head scratcher

Until further updates from Watford camp re Crean, his recruitment is wide open

I'm pointing g out that you downplayed his connection to his AAU/HS players. Similar to the Watford situation, you are suggesting a coach w a long positive connection to a player isn't huge

I don't think it's a great hire either

And that's valid but he was behind the eight ball with Wiseman because Wiseman played in Nashville until this past year. Connections help but they don't guarantee anything. As far as Watford, Avery made him a priority the day he got the Bama job, Watford visits on his own dime alot as well. Crean does go way back but didn't offer trendon while he was coaching IU as was mentioned.

He didn't offer a 15 year old a scholarship when he was clearly about to be fired... That angle is very overplayed

That's why I said his recruitment is wide open and no one is truly in "great shape"

Bama may be in as good as shape relative to rbe situation, but not "great shape" near lock right now

If Penny gets hired, UK would be pulling an upset to get Wiseman

Also, completely OT but how do ya'll feel about the Texas kids flooding the student population rolls at Bama?

I don't mean impact on the school, I mean the opinion of how they represent the alumni base

It will get very interesting with Watford if Crean hires Seltzer. I think that’s his name. He has the connection with the Watford family if I’m remembering right.

I believe we are gaining enough momentum as a program and herb is clearly gonna be a fixture in our future. He's like another part of the Watford household and I think playing here with Kira Lewis will be even more appealing to trendon. It seems like the last few crops of instate kids wanna make Bama relevant again . Just don't think Georgia offers the same stage Bama will.

Well the point is, if he didn’t offer him then, then he’s barely recruited him. Avery has been recruiting him since before Crean was fired.
Look at Collin Sexton’s recruitment as an example.
