Weather looks to be clearing in a couple hours. What’s up with Wrightsell now? Injured in practice?

I don't know, but it's time to move this guy to role player status. It's just a continuity killer dealing with his chronic injuries and him being the defacto starter when he is healthy or borderline healthy

This team is like that year we got bounced by a mid ND team in the first round. I don’t think they got any dog in em. These guys will be playing the next game like nothing happened. They don’t want to be out there unless they’re 100.

Maybe I’m wrong but the vibes are screwed up with this team.

Could Ky please be decent enough to not have a coach opening for a few years. This is getting a bit ridiculous and I don’t want them making Oats say no every 2-3 years.

I would like to personally thank KY for reading my post on the Bama board of the SECRant and taking it to heart in 2 road comeback wins, including a 17 point comeback win in Knoxville. Your services are appreciated in helping us keep Oats at Bama.

Oats is not leaving Alabama for another college Job. If he leaves it will be for the NBA

You may be right, but the NBA schedule is way worse than college and I don’t think the money is that different. As his youngest daughter approaches upper high school, the blue bloods become significantly more of an issue in my opinion.

Also I don’t think he can legally move out of the state of Alabama until his youngest daughter turns 18 per the terms of his divorce.

She’s like 12 or 13

Then I feel good about the next 5ish years, assuming they don’t change the stipulations when she turns 16 or something. We are very blessed to have him and I hope we can continue to support him as long as he remains.

I’m still holding out hope that he’ll want to leave a legacy at Bama that is significantly bigger than anything he could do elsewhere, and that he can bring home a ‘ship before leaving the program.

I always thought I kept up with everything going on around Alabama Football and Basketball. But this is the first I’ve heard of a divorce. Before I posted this, I even went online to try to read about it, and I cannot find it anywhere in the news. When did all this go down with CNO? Or is there a joke here I’m missing?

It hasn’t been something that has been publicly talked about and it’s really just been message board stuff. I think people assume it’s happened and there may have even been a filing someone found if I remember.

But it is easy to miss because no one made it a real big news thing, rightfully so as it’s a family matter.

Absolutely agreed with it (details), being a private matter. I hate that for family. I did notice on his bio that no spouse is mentioned. Thanks for responding.

For sure. And I mean he clearly is still being an awesome dad. One of his daughters is at UA and one plays travel volleyball with DeBoers kid.

However the agreement played out he obviously could’ve challenged the out of state thing if he wanted.

He turned down Kentucky. He didn't do that without calling his buddy Pitino, who is pretty open about the fact that leaving Kentucky is one of his biggest regrets, to talk about the job. I'm pretty confident that any coach who turns down Kentucky is satisfied that they can compete for a title just as well at their current job.

The NBA obviously is a different matter. He's not an NBA guy though and NBA franchises are as likely to hire an NBA guy with little if any coaching experience than a college guy with decades of it.
