It’s only year 2 and Oats has shown us he can recruit, that he will play fast and score, and we will defend at an elite level. I’m really excited for the future and it’s for real this time.

I think so too. The defensive play is the part of this so far that I did not see coming and is a huge plus moving forward.

At this point if we needed a game winning shot who's hands do you put the ball in? I don't know that we have anyone.

Not sure there is really a great option. Ellis is probably the most capable of getting to the rim and finishing contested, but he also turns the ball over on the dribble drive more than some others. I probably "trust" Herb in general the most in terms of reading the play and getting to the rim, but he's a terrible finisher.
Of course, we'd all say "Kira would be perfect to have in those situations" but he had 3-4 games where he had the ball in his hands at the end and didn't do a very good job. So who knows.

An update: The Jerome is still on for this year. More details soon. A request: if you retweet any changes to conference tournaments (new formats, postponements, etc.), please tag @SendIt_Interns and me.
Oh hell yeah
Few things better than the Jerome to make every conference tournament interesting.

Also, the most egregious missed foul call was the should have been And 1 on his layup at the 1:12 mark

Seriously. He might be our most efficient player on offense, and has the highest defensive IQ outside of Herb. His length is a problem to defend.
Oats might sit Primo and start Ellis. Crazy how basketball moves in flows, because that statement would have been insane to say last month.

Man, Herb had a wide open kick out on that last blocked shot

This I think is the biggest issue right now with our offense. When our offense is rolling we are driving to kick unless we have a wide open layup. Right now, we are driving one on one regardless of matchup and aren’t looking to kick it out.

Nobody to kick it out to because the better defenses are just daring us to drive and finish and not helping off outside shooters.

Are we all done melting yet? I’m still a little meaty
I've never considered stating one's critical analysis of a team/player as melting. I'm just not much for all the pie-in-the-sky, raving accolades, and over blown predictions we see a lot of around here...to me, it's rather immature, but that's just my opinion.

What if I told you before the season that we would be in the top 10 in February, 10 and 1 in the SEC with a two game lead for first place, and that half our fans would still be complaining?

I think we should all take this time to take a deep breath and give thanks for the true heroes

Iowa lost to Indiana, they are one of the teams in contention for a 2 seed with us.
We lost to Mizzou but Villanova, Texas, Iowa, Houston, Tennessee, and Virginia also lost in the last week too, so it didn't really hurt us much.
