We dont have the shot creators nor dribblers that we need. The returners feel like they regressed since last year also

If the coach needs a lottery pick PG to make his offense work, the problem isn't the non-lottery pick PG. It's the coach.
Not to mention the fact that Oats is the one who brought Quinerly in. He's not an inherited player.

Outside of salary, why should be de so disappointed with these results? It takes time to figure things out. If its the SOS two years from now, call me.

Doesn’t have to be a lottery pick but he has to have Speed. JQ doesn’t and Herb just doesn’t have the handles while in traffic IMO

I just figured we would get up and down the floor more with an emphasis on 3s.
Obviously Kira could get up and down quickly, but he wasn't lighting up the world from behind the arc.
And honestly we had our fair share of being off from 3 last year. I just thought for some reason we had more shooters this year. Wrong again I suppose.

Unless the dude is like 5'11" or just can't shoot a lick any PG with Kira's speed is a lottery pick though. That's kind of my point. If you need a dude who can get to the basket at will for the offense to work, then the offense is broken.

I hoped for more from Ellis, granted he has not gotten extended minutes. Shack and Petty's offensive numbers being down hurts. We totaled a measly 7 assists today also

I like Nate and I like his system. But he’s not going to get a PG with the basketball acumen to run it down here every class. We screwed up. Nate is not a bad coach. But he’s not a good fit here. We just need a solid, fundamental basketball coach like Kermit Davis, like Rick Barnes, like Steve Forbes. Byrne went after the sexy new shiny toy and it’s just a bad fit at a school that needs to play basic, sound basketball with above average athletes. These guys obviously can’t execute his system and I’m not even sure they grasp it.
We’re stuck with Nate for now unless he decides to leave on his own. I like the man and I think he’s a good coach. I just don’t think he’s a good coach for Alabama. I wish we could hire Pitino but the PTB would never go for that. Nate will have good years, like next year with JD and he’ll have bad years like this one. This is Alabama basketball.
