Why wasn’t Quinerly in at the end? He is by far our best FT shooter.

Is his defense that bad?

It was atrocious tonight. Like, it was bad before, but they were abusing him.

I think Nate had to choose whether to have him or Shack on the floor because we were unable to function defensively with both of them out there together.

It’s unbelievable how slow they are defensively. They either lack anticipation abilities or have slower feet than Reese.

Quinnerly is both slow-footed and has terrible instincts. He made the wrong read, or sagged when he should have jumped, or lost eye contact, or made a stupid reach around move, or tried to double late, or some other thing like that at least 10-15 times tonight........and they took advantage of it on almost every possession.

quinerly isnt very aggressive, is he. shackleford is way to aggressive on the offensive end. rojas was the man tonight, he and herb.

Love mental and physical toughness of NY players. NYC is best, but upstate is tougher than anyone but NYC. Rojas is not talented but he is probably 3rd most valuable player behind Herb and somebody else :-)

Damn it'd be nice to see us pick up where we left off the last 10 minutes of that game on Saturday against Western. Because, fortunately, we are still in great shape in terms of resume and wins and losses. We've played like a-hole, but so far we have 2 solid wins, 0 bad losses and 2 losses to NCAAT level teams.....with 2 very winnable games coming up before SEC play starts.

So we haven't dug ourselves a hole at all, and we've lucked into maybe finding something in terms of a group of guys who can do something.

So I fully expect to see Reese for extended minutes and Rojas back out around the 3 Pt line trying to dribble drive.

From my naive perspective, JQ looked incredibly slow and heavy footed tonight. He was rough, and I hope that isn’t a sign of things to come.

I honestly think it's so bad that against teams with smart and capable guards that we simply cannot play him and Shack together out front. It looked like Penn last year when Herb went out. It wasn't functional.

The fact of the matter is that guys like Primo and Ellis need to play more, Reese needs to play less, and Shack needs to come off the bench. I fully expect us to have the same starting lineup as tonight the next time out though. I mean yay for the win, and they turned it around in the second half, but there's absolutely no reason why this roster should struggle with a good not great mid-major. None.

I was just thinking about us playing Tennessee and what they would scheme against JQ. I don’t like it one bit .

I was thinking about the Vols because I just watched them before Bama

Without the 2nd half Rojas, we would be in trouble.

He basically iced the game.

Yea - this could be a really good win if we take what we learned and run with it. Or, it could just be a win we look back on in March and go "hu, that would have been a nice win on the resume if we weren't 16-14 right now".

I don't know if the staff talked to him, I don't know if he just kind of fell into it, I don't know what happened. But he just decided in the 2nd half he was going to shut dudes down, grab every rebound and physically beat the shite out of everyone in the paint on our end of the floor.

He and Gary early in the 2nd half totally changed the game.

Petty and Shack have to find their shot at some point also. We cant rely on second chance points all season solely as our offense
