It's pretty wild that we have now played 4 Top 67 KenPom teams and 1/3 of the conference hasn't played a single Top 100 team.
#22 Clemson, #35 Stanford, #64 Providence, #67 Furman
Georgia, Ole Miss, Vandy, and Arkansas combined haven't played a single team in the Top 100

Petty and Shack have to find their shot at some point also. We cant rely on second chance points all season solely as our offense
Honestly, he is what he is but Petty will find his shot. He took good shots tonight, he just couldn't make them. At some point, he's going to make more of those than he misses.
I'm pretty concerned about Shack.

quinerly isnt very aggressive, is he. shackleford is way to aggressive on the offensive end. rojas was the man tonight, he and herb.
Don’t forget Gary too.. had some big buckets , rebounds and hustled on D

IT'd be really nice if we had a nice, solid 40 minutes of basketball Saturday to slide me into getting ready for the football game.
LOL JK I'm not stupid

Gary was definitely a much needed spark tonight

Absolutely. We've talked about their effort, and that was important, but just as important was that he, Rojas, Ellis, and even Primo are just better on-ball defenders than the other guys. They force tougher shots and they are athletic enough to capitalize on snatching rebounds. And, it allows Herb to actually play his man and help instead of scrambling all over the floor to try and make up for issues created by the others.
Furman's offense looked totally different once those guys were in. Everything stopped being easy and free flowing.

Oats on why Quinerly didn’t play down the stretch:

Oats frustrates me with all the talking, but one thing I do absolutely love about him is that when he walks into post-game press conferences he tells you exactly what he saw and what he liked and didn't like.

Just a reminder that last year Furman maintained a double digit lead on us throughout the game and it took a furious comeback in the final minutes and OT to remain undefeated.
Hi, guys. Just here to offer up some crow.
Or should I eat shite and frick off instead?
Good win tonight.

I know Petty is streaky and I usually don’t worry about him finding his stroke but he’s been ice cold so far this season and playing like arse. He had 6 points, 7 boards and 5 assists tonight and was 0-6 from 3 point land. That brings him to 11-39 this season or 28%. He’s had 1 good game against UNLV when he was 6-10. Take that out and he’s 5 for 29 or 17%. He’s been rebounding pretty well but the shooting...we need just average JP to win games.

LOL - absolutely not. Like having you guys around. I think we all knew Furman was a good team (we played them last year too), but it was more on our end where the frustration was coming from. Hopefully we took a step in the 2nd half.
Keep coming back!

A flip just switched for Rojas. He’s been absolute dog shite until about 5-7 minutes into the 2nd half. I was actually complaining about how little sense it made to have him in there over Gary. Clearly Oats knew he had the dog in him, but good grief did he almost let the ship sink under Rojas’s command before he showed it. My hope is that he realizes his role of being this team’s Chris Hines and not this team’s Kira Lewis. Wouldn’t surprise me if he breaks the FG attempt record against WKU after he made that last 3 though. He’s never lacked on confidence, I can tell you that.

100% - he can be a real asset if he plays the dog role. If he goes back to the run and gun, he's quite literally not a Division 1 basketball player.
So, hopefully, tonight is what we get moving forward because it's huge for this team.

It was telling to me that Oats didn't even substitute JQ in after made Furman FTs late in the game as an offensive sub. He put the ball in Herb's hands.
Also saw a couple of posts comparing freshman Petty to this season so far. I agree with the streaky 3 point shooting certainly but, since his sophomore season, Petty does make a lot of "winning" plays down the stretch. He makes some mistakes but also gets a number of big defensive plays, rebounds, put backs etc. . .

Yeah, we welcome your knowledge/opinion any time.
Congrats on y'alls W as well.

The emergence of Rojas. Guy could be a beast. He and Herb balled out.

Agree - he's a better all-around player than he was then. He also doesn't dribble the ball off his foot or throw it to the referee every other possession like he did back then
He had some very strong rebounds and made some great lead passes down the stretch tonight. He's doing other stuff, just gotta get his shot to start falling.

I don’t understand Shacks obsession of driving into the trees despite being the smallest Dude on the fricking floor

Yea - I feel like he decided this offseason he had to be a more complete player, but that ain't it.
