I find it all a bit odd. Smart had a better team than Bears this year, right? Beard had a good two year run, but has just been good since 2018-19. Shaka never got past the first round at Texas, which would obviously be frustrating, but I’m not sure why Beard is the heir apparent, other than his playing career there.

Washington State. The vast, empty nothingness of the Palouse can be either serene and beautiful or depressing depending on the person.

Baylor to me. Their very very tough inside the paint. Good bench. #45 (Mitchell, I think) is dangerous both outside and driving and can dish the ball.
Plus their Def has picked up. Their size cud be a match up problem.

Shaka probably had the most talent at Texas and he should of had the better team but I don't think he did.

The ONLY reason Oats would leave is because of facilities, and it would be our own fault

Can someone link me to a site that shows team game by game stats?

I don't believe that one bit honestly because he's already discussed that publicly.

Who's ready for some MARCH MADNESS TOMORROW?
Posted on 3/26/21 at 7:30 pm to Joka2kold
Nobody!!! According to everyone in the world, we’re only a football school.
It makes me irrationally mad to hear that, and I’d like to strangle each and every talking head that utters those words. I hate it, and I hate that we can’t watch a damn basketball game without football and Saban being mentioned.

You think he’d “publicly” insult the facilities though?

Me too. I love football, but shut the frick up about it. We don't have to hear about football and Saban during softball (USUALLY). Why can't you lazy frickers think of something else to ask Oats?

I mean, I know who Chris Beard is and I I never said he wasn’t a good coach. Sorry if I’m not a “true college basketball expert”, whatever the hell that means. My point was, he’s been a major collegiate head coach for five or six years, had a really good team that made two tournament runs, and Texas essentially fired a successful HC in order to “make a run” at the guy, not hire him. Would he be an upgrade over Smart? Probably. Is it worth the shite show they’ll be in if he says no and they hire their fourth candidate? Probably not, and that was my point. I don’t get it.

No, but I do believe he honestly thinks that Coleman isn't a major issue at this time. He has excellent facilities other than that which is where he and the players spend the majority of their time.
We just need to follow through with a new/updated arena within another 2-3 years (hopefully sooner) and I don't think he'd think twice about it. If it's 2024 and we're stilling telling him that it's coming. but we still haven't seen any actual progress...

I feel the same way. It's like I take it as a sign of disrespect to our basketball program and Oats. I know that's probably crazy and untrue, but it does make me irrationally perturbed.

Hasn't Byrne already obtained a preliminary design and cost estimate for a major interior renovation of Coleman Coliseum and started working toward getting it funded?

It’s annoying as hell to hear the constant references to Alabama football on a random Wednesday night basketball game in January. Or he’ll, I’ve heard it come up on a Sunday afternoon broadcast of baseball or softball. GET NEW MATERIAL.
