Wouldn't mind one bit for the league to gain some more respect and momentum. Having 3 teams in the S16 would be great coverage for a week.

Normally, I'd like LSU but having to play a quality opponent and beat them 4 times is playing with fire a bit. Hope it's a good game.
Ark-Ala Final still tracking.

They play good perimeter defense and dont foul much. So, it sets up to be a tight game according to many of the odds makers. Most of them think the final score will be in the 60s. They refer to Ala as a declining offense.
We haven't been playing great offense lately. But we keep winning games. Big credit to the defense. But our guys have also gotten very good at closing out games. We play some of our best basketball in the last 4-5 minutes of games. That's a skill that's hard to quantify.

I'll pull for LSU today. If they win, I think they'll get the FSU/Colorado winner.
When we win tonight, I'll then be pulling against LSU in the sweet 16.
Very difficult beating a talented team multiple times in 1 season, much less 4.

It's hard to root for UM, but I can't make myself pull for LSU, mainly due to Wade's/LSU's lack of integrity. Imo, LSU isn't even worthy to be in the tourney. And, I'd rather we play #1-seed UM than for LSU to get a 4th opportunity to beat us.

I don't know why, but slept like shite last night, maybe 3 hours. So between fatigue and distracted with this game, my productivity is going to be garbage today.

Don’t want to potentially face a team 4x times so Michigan

Are you talking about Maryland? They are ranked 190th in 3P FG%, not very good, and they commit 30 fouls a game which is a lot.

Maryland gonna get it.

My strategy for fricking with Maryland fans online, isn't to insult then or their team. I'm getting personal. I'm insulting their seafood and talking up Mobile's. When you tell them Mobile has better blue crabs, they'd be less upset of you just went ahead and called their mom a whore.
Makes for some unusual, yet friendly banter.

Beating them 4 times in one year would be nice but I feel like there's a huge risk there. 3 times is hard enough.

Agreed. Beating them for a trip to the Final Four would produce the biggest meltdown this site has seen since 1/9 and it would be beautiful to witness, but the risk outweighs the reward IMO. Beating anyone with a pulse 4 times in one season is tough. I wonder if it has ever even happened before.

I agree. I'd rather play a Michigan team that doesn't know everything about our players and plays.

They are an efficient defensive team, and the eye test against UCONN seemed to validate that.
But the announcers mentioned that their style is to pack it in a bit and take away drives and post ups.
I wonder if they do that because they play basically 4 6'5-6'6 guys and one big for the most part. And they play in a conference with a ton of good and massive big men. And their best big isn't especially big.
I wonder how they will play us, and if that will still be their philosophy.

Unfortunately Kentucky did it to us during the '85-'86 season. Met them in the Sweet 16 and lost 68-63.
