Loyola's big dudes are so under control on their drives and pivots.

Loyal is fun watching run their offensive sets. If thier bigs were allowed to take (don't know if they are) and could hit that top of the key 3 they would be even more deadly. That defensive rotations are strong too. Really enjoying this.

Good half for Loyola-Chicago. I was certain illinois would be in the title game. And he they are, getting beaten by an instate rival.

I feel good about tomorrow. Glad we don't have an early game. I think we play better and get the win.

At some point last night, the gymnastics title thread was stickied. I guess I'd gotten used to seeing this thread as the third post and immediately just clicked on that. I apparently started posting in the recruiting thread, and pissed a few people off.

It might happen, but this does not look like an obvious and inevitable comeback.

Loyola is getting better shots.

ETA: like clockwork, a mini-comeback starts right after I post that.

I keep thinking Illinois is going to come back.

It's not happening so far.

They are shooting free throws for the rest of the game so they should come back

Illinois can not get a single easy bucket it seems. Everything is contested and they can't speed up Loyola. It doesn't seem like their coach is throwing in any wrinkles to change the game (press, trap, get the big man deeper looks on some back picks, anything). If they comeback it is just going to come down to them making shots if things don't change.

This is a very quiet 13 point lead because it’s just been methodical and not even remotely fluky.

I hate when officials do that: let them play in the first half so after the players adjust to that, the zebras start calling the second half much tighter. It’s been equally done but it still sucks. Be consistent, especially at this critical juncture.
