If he starts to crank it up and consistently shoots 35%+, Bama is going to be hell to beat. That's having two legit scorers coming off the bench. That stops the 2nd half under 10 minute droughts that have been plaguing us for years. That makes Alabama a team that is tough to guard for 40 minutes

As long as JQ doesnt get hurt. We have a problem if that happens.

Anyone else think that Petty should come back next season since this is a free year?
Dude is getting better and better, but still needs to work on his ball handling badly. I know it is selfish of me, but I think he could use one more year to make himself better

I think he should just go to the D league and see if he can improve by playing every day. Not sure what he did during the shut down, but it didnt help his problem areas. Maybe he and Herb should just get out there every day and play man on man and see if they can learn to dribble drive to the basket

definitely wouldn't hurt. Oates should have brought in a dribbling coach. Saban does this stuff all the time. He brought in the guy to work out with Smitty to improve his burst

It feels so good to wake up 3-1 instead of 2-2. Now I can actually enjoy this next week off without being mad at the world

Definitely. They look so good last night with ball movement, moving without the ball, driving and kicking, making the extra pass and being right out tough

It has been 4 years. If he was going to improve his handle he would have by now. Petty just kind of is what he is.

usually at this point in the season, we are first team out on the bubble. I was afraid that if we lost that one last night it would haunt us all the way to the Sunday they announce the brackets.

No, not if he's coming back to work on his ball-handling. When Petty first got here it was painful to watch him try to finish a fast break. In all fairness, that was true of the entire team under AJ. When he would dribble-drive you just knew he wasn't going to make it from one edge of the free-throw line to the other without a turnover. Now, he at least has a sporting chance at it. He really is a very good athlete, but handling the rock does not come naturally to him. He has many other gifts, mostly shooting the ball. I just hope he can get more consistent with that.

I fully expect us to go into Jan 7-2

I think we'd all sign up for that. Taking 3/4 from Clemson, Houston, Furman, and Ole Miss would be great.
And with @ Tennessee, Florida, @ Auburn, @ Kentucky, Arkansas and @ LSU the next 6 games...........also would help keep us off the ledge

What's funny is that Petty did same thing in HS. His ball handling has improved and I think he will continue to get better as the season goes along. That drive to dunk that he missed badly... Nothing new. He did same thing in HS, but I noticed he had extra hop adn that was good to see.

Wimp was asked this morning if Primo would start soon.
Wimp said: Naw, he aint going to start. The point guard is there to stay and they have 2 very, very good wings. But, Primo can play either the point or the wing. He is very, very valuable to that team. I dont think he is going to start, but he is very valuable for their team.

1. 17-9 - no explanation needed 2. On the bubble, but not really 3. Oh you need 2 wins in the conference tournament? Lol frick you, here's Kentucky in the second round 4. A graphic at the bottom of the screen explaining that it has been 6:42 since Alabama's last made FG 5. Losing in Rupp by 8 points and congratulating ourselves over the moral victory 6. Losing to one of the 3 worst teams in the conference in late February with an 18-10 record 7. Giving up 13/24 3pt shooting to a team that has made 28% on the season. 8. Making unathletic white forwards from average mid-major programs look like peak Larry Bird 9. Shooting <40% from inside of 2 feet over the course of an entire game
Has anyone mentioned the other team making 30+ straight free throws on us? If not, that is what i'm adding

I forgot about that. Was it A&M that did that?
