We had some serious late drives to the rim in both those games that gave me a lot of hope going forward.
Herb just refused to lose and Ellis and Gary have been beasts when we needed it. JQ, Petty, Shack, and even Reese at times - really all the guys have played great through some tough, tough games.
Lot of effort and heart during the SECT.

Why did the refs go to video review after the game was over? I was listening to Chris Stewart (on delay) at the Joe, already about to have a nervous breakdown over the first two innings (offensive inefficiency) and never got a clear understanding of what was being reviewed after the buzzer. My life temporarily flashed before my eyes until he said the confetti was falling and the game was finally over.

I thought someone may have gotten into the rim on the last shot and they were considering goal-tending. I didn't celebrate for like 2 minutes after it was over waiting to see.

Uconn should be above a 7 seed imo, they are 16th on KenPom.
For comparison the other 7 seeds are...
Florida - 37 on KenPom
Oregon - 36 on KenPom
Clemson - 42 on KEnpom
I guess they didn't take into account that Uconn was 11 and 3 with Bouknight and were 3 and 4 without him.

These guys on the bracket show really think the SEC is crap. They basically pick everyone against us and pour cold water on us doing anything productive.
I think the SEC is going to shock a lot of people.

Agree. The darling Big 10 just looks so slow to me.
I don’t think some of these other conferences will fully understand how to prep for our teams (Alabama included) with a one-game turnaround.

Kenpom is actually relatively high on Maryland too for what it’s worth. #31 which is the best number for any 10 seed.
So: a) it’s not some forgone conclusion that we’re going to see UCONN, and b) according to Kenpom at least, we have the toughest second game of any 2 seed any way you look at it.
Both are balanced teams with good offensive and defensive numbers, and both play really slow (in the 300s on adjusted tempo).
