I’ve been impressed with the athletes in the big 12 tournament all week. Ok State and Texas both have some impressive guys.
It’s sort of a cliche but it seems like a bit higher level of athletes than the Big 10 guys

Agree - tons of long, athletic, smooth guys all across those top teams

We won the rebounding battle in both games we played against LSU.
We lost the turnover battle in both games.
We won all four halves against them for what that is worth.
Looking through the boxscores, we didn't really have a guy that lead the way offensively in both games. Actually it kind of looks like the guys that really produced in the first game were pretty quiet in game two, while the guys that were quiet in game one pitched in more in the second game. Almost like a total reversal of roles. Doubt there is really anything to that, probably just more of a coincidence than anything.
JQ has been extremely efficient against them this year other than six turnovers. Against LSU this year, JQ has put up these numbers:
42 minutes
32 points
12/19 FG
8/10 3P
4 rebounds
4 assists

Noticed two quick things about the game:
1) We got really nothing out of Shack. 1-4 for 2 points. Must be his least productive game of the season.
2) With 17 minutes left they were up 48-33. We gave up 20 points over the next 17 minutes.

I just don't understand how you can actually dislike Herb in any way. He's such a likable guy and his growth as a player over the years is pretty awesome. Not to mention he's a total badass and gives you everything he's got every single time he steps on the floor. I have nothing but respect and love for Herbert Jones. Shoot, he's on the short list of most important/impactful guys this program has had in two decades imo.

Agree with every word. And I also know we have a lot of talent coming in, but I think people are going to realize next year how much he meant to this team

Baffling to me as well. Kid does nothing but work hard and properly represent UA MBB. Not to mention being SEC POTY and DPOTY
Any hate for him is just nonsense.

We'd be sweating out on the bubble or in the NIT without Herb. Inane to talk shite about Herb.

I get being frustrated at times with Herbs offense. But saying "he sucks" or "can't wait for him to be gone".......I mean what do you even say to that

Don’t understand how anyone in Crimson could hate on Herb Jones. Remove Herb and we finish like we did last year, limping home down the stretch losing a must-win to freaking Vandy.
And if you’re referring to that last possession where he drove to the hole, he only got hacked about 4 times on that play and didn’t get a call from the blind mother fricking SEC officials. We are SEC champs and in the tournament final in large part due to the bust-your-arse-24/7 mentality of Herb Jones. He’s a damn legend now like Buck Johnson, Mule King, Robert Horry, etc.

Got to be on my best behavior.... I promise it wasn't detrimental to this team or Herb. Him and Petty are the heart of this team.

One thing that does piss me off is the way the posters attack Reese. Even though his shooting is somewhat erratic, this guy plays with heart and we'd lost this game today without him. I'm with Oats. Reese gives all he has.

I mean, yeah - it would be great if he didn't miss quite as many layup/close shots as he does. It can be frustrating as hell and I really don't even understand how he misses some of them that he does. It certainly isn't because he sucks or from a lack of effort or anything like that though.

Agree with this. Reese has given tons of effort while being gimpy and he very clearly loves this team.
His shooting since Oats arrived though, oof. He shot under 30% from three last season on 171 attempts.
Somehow got even worse this year. Down to 24.8% on 105 attempts. He's only shooting 34.2% from the floor overall. Those are really bad numbers.
He did make a pretty big one tonight though to give him some credit and I think it would be awesome to see him hit another big three at some point late in a tight tournament game.
