@NMedlineFOX: Alabama (visit Apr. 11), #Northwestern, Seton Hall, Indiana (which visited today) will all get "a fair shot" from Sina.

The 2014 class is going to be pretty critical. If Grant manages to do well enough next season to keep his job, he needs to fill a lot of needs. I honestly wouldn't mind pushing for Coleman, Haas, and Lee from the start and hoping that we can get someone like Hill or Jackson if (more like when at this point) we miss on Sina. Guys like Turman and Gant may be slightly better prospects than Lee and Haas, but this is a situation like when you are in the midst of a long slump and know you can get a 6 but think you can get an 8. Better to take the 6 home and break your slump than go for the 8, miss, and watch the 6 go home with some douchebag.

Totally agree with you but I dont think Grant works that way. If he did we wouldve went after guys like T. Jorgensen or C. Elder.

He is visiting again before signing? That's a good sign. I did not know he was planning to do that. We might have more of a shot than I expected.

I just really want Haas and Colemen for 2014. Anyone else I would be cool with. I could just see Haas developing into something like the big man from Kansas.

You think Sina is a 2 for us? Well I can see it I guess I have to stop looking at college bball like the NBA.
If we land him and Coleman, yes. He's a PG, but with his shot he can easily slide to the 2.

This is primarily just an update of Sina apparently talking to Chris Collins today for about 40 minutes. Collins is taking the coach's son similarity (Doug Collins of 76ers is his father) the two have in common. Smart move. Also the Indiana in-home visit today was by an assistant. If Indiana wants him, Crean's got to step his game up.

Here's what he said about Alabama:

quote:

The 3-star guard originally committed to Alabama before changing his mind. Coach Anthony Grant still has interest in bringing Sina to Tuscaloosa. After next week’s imposed “dead period,” Sina plans to visit the school and reconsider.

“I have a good relationship with them,” Sina said. “They’ve been recruiting me the whole time. I think that’s a big thing: having a relationship with the coach.

I asked McIntosh's coach if we offered and he said no and also added that we aren't going to.

I don't get it. If we offer Desmond Lee or Algie Key, and not this kid I'll be pissed.

I'll give the coached the benefit of the doubt. I've seen maybe 5 minutes of film on this kid against suspect competition.

My whole thing is if UConn, Miami, and UCLA offer him what is it about him that we dont like. I hope its just limited offers or something. Kid has freak athletic ability.

I normally would, but if he took the whole staff to watch him and decides not to offer him after watching him once in a game that was apparently controlled by officiating, that's just ridiculous. Maybe the guy's coach was just thinking they wouldn't offer, but he seemed pretty confident in the tweet he sent Bryant that we wouldn't.

Looks like a Tony Mitchell with tighter handles. I've only seen highlight videos, but the kid has crazy upside.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes, and not if we don't at least offer him.
