I got this tweet from Daniel Williams earlier this morning that I probably should have shared earlier: "@Coach_DWill: @BamaBBallGuy He hasn't asked for his release yet. He flew home after their loss to Bradley Saturday and is on spring break"

Could be that they were/are trying to keep it on the DL until they talked to the Tulane staff and someone just outted him, or it could also just be completely false.

@TheRecruitScoop: Indiana is now involved with 2013 PG Jaren Sina, who is focusing on Northwestern, Seton Hall & Alabama, but remains wide open, per a source.

@AdamZagoria: Indiana has reached out to Jaren Sina 'multiple times,' source tells @SNYtv

It sounds like it was Kline who had a bad perspective. Surprise, surprise. I wonder if Zagoria gets annoyed by the kid?

6'6" PF 3-star on ESPN
6'6" SF 3-star on Rivals

ESPN Scouting Report:

quote:

Strengths: Classic undersized power forward who is really put together. Physically strong and rugged guy around the basket. He's a player who works for every point he gets. Blue collar and not flashy. His biggest improvement over the past year is he is starting to make his 18' jumpers.

Weaknesses: He doesn't quite yet possess a reliable interior offensive game. He won't make his living in the lane. Needs to keep developing his offensive game and become a more aggressive rebounder.

Bottom Line: Some may see him as a combo forward but he's going to want to find a nice mid major program where he'll get minutes early and cultivate his game.

Sounds like we are starting to get desperate.

I think the scouting report is just old. UCLA and UCONN have offered according to Rivals. Here's a highlight video, looks more like a SF. LINK

Kind of reminds me of Tony Mitchell.

Plus with a name like MiKyle McIntosh, how can you fail?

Doesnt sound desperate at all. Sounds like we want someone who is going to put on his hard hat and go to work. We dont have anyone like that at all.

Retin is the definition of that. I would like the kid just so we could add some length on the wing for when Cooper and Levi leave.

That makes me feel better, but Rivals usually relies on the word of the kid and they don't really know the difference between a committable and non-committable offer. Interest is interest though.

I wouldn't mind a guy with Tony's game, provided he doesn't have anything like Tony's attitude.

ETA: Just watched the video. Whoever came up with "undersized power forward" was smoking crack. Nothing about that kid says power forward.

IDK just looked at 3 highlight clips of him and the kid can play. He needs to work on his jumper but he brings the ball up the court and shows handles. He can fly. I think the comparison to Tony Mitchell is great but I think Tony could shoot better than this kid. Glad to see us trying to get some above the rim players.

He doesn't appear to have any kind of back to the basket game. He's a 3 with some 2 guard skills from what I could gather out of that highlight tape. So yeah, basically Tony. We could use a little athletic infusion to the roster. Pollard is the only guy we have right now who is capable of violently slamming down a putback, and he still sucks at getting himself in a position to do that. Cooper, Levi, Jacobs, and Gueye try to tip the ball in, and it doesn't work half the time. Jacobs is really the only one of them who does it well.

He's the type of kid I wouldn't mind adding. He's not just a body. It may take him two years, but he could make a contribution to the team.

I like the effort he shows. I just dont understand why it took us soo long to try and go out and get a type a player like this. We couldve done this aa long time ago.

Saw a video for him from 2010 and he played PF and he looked like one. Probably just an old ESPN scouting report. Doesn't look like he's grown since then so probably just a case of the kid adapting himself to play on the wing.

The more and more I watch the kid the more I wonder what's wrong with him that we can't see in the highlight videos? He looks like a stud. Here a highlight video of him in a game with Ben Howland watching, wouldn't surprise me if he offered on the spot.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I was going to ask how is he only a 3 star. Maybe he needs to work on his shooting but for his size and athletic ability he is pretty skilled. If we can pull him and a guard I would be very happy.

That competition doesn't look too tough. That could be why is rated so low and is a late period recruit.
