We played 2 midweek games our bullpen is probably taxed a little more than usual this weekend.

Burrow pitched today or is he unavailable today?

No walks or balks and keep it in the park.

Brutal loss. 2 out of 3 isn't bad, but this one could come back to haunt us.

Lot of walks and balks.

We really need that series @LSU in a few weeks.

I don't know, no update.

Pisses me off when late in a game a ump starts squeezing the plate and calling lots of balls.

Curious decisions by Gaspard today. Pulling Keller after the 7th when he hasn't allowed a run since the first to go to a depleted bullpen was odd, although I don't know how many pitches he'd thrown. Turning to Overstreet to start the 9th was also strange, given how he hasn't pitched in forever. Seems like you'd stick with Bramblett who proved he could actually get somebody out when he finished the 8th. All that said, you can't blow that lead in two innings, somebody had to step up and get some outs and that's not really Gaspard's fault. Brutal loss, sucks to be so disappointed even though we accomplished the goal of winning the series.

2 out of 3 was all I expected.

We gave up way to many runs this weekend.

Screw LSU and USCe we coming to win.

Should have lost yesterday and won vice versa today.

If I remember correctly, Overstreet had only pitched one time before today? Weird decisions by Gaspard

I understand saving arms, but damn a sweep could provide some cushion.

Over street should be working an inning or so once a week if he is going to be expected to get a clutch 1 run save on the road. To win or sweep a big series with our bullpen we need a starter to go 8. Our bullpen is very good but falls of after about 10 innings in a series.

I wish our starters could throw more strikes and waste less pitches.

Yea we've been walking way too many people and allowing too many easy runs to score against us. I posted as much after the first inning today that it was going to bite us, if only I knew how soon it would I would've kept my mouth shut That said...

Playing two midweek games really hurt us this week. Today we likely could've counted on some combination of any two outta Hawley, Hubbard, Bramblett, or Burrows for more innings if we hadn't played an extra game Tuesday. That said, if we're a championship level team we should be able to count on anybody on the roster to close that game out today. There really aren't any excuses. And honestly you can look to the bullpen almost blowing Friday's game as a reason we lost today. If we aren't forced to use Burrows for 5 outs in a game we led by 8 runs on Friday, he would've been available to slam the door today. Just a bad, bad weekend for our bullpen. All that said, I think every one of us would've taken a series win before this weekend started, so hopefully the team is able to acknowledge a nice goal they accomplished and is able to focus on another very tough, but very winnable, road series next week. If we win two at USCe next weekend, we can start seriously thinking about earning a national seed.
