Here’s the thing. I don’t know if we can win our region but we know we can beat Vandy.

Vandy is a pretty weak #1 honestly. Hell when we played them three short weeks ago they were on the hosting bubble.

It gets so tiring watching us get bent the frick over by the seeding committee in baseball year in and year out

See I don’t think we got screwed. Our pitching is woeful. We didn’t deserve to host. And since we didn’t host, we got the easiest region to be a #2 seed. We may lay an egg but they gave us an easy road to supers.

And if we make supers, we’ve proven we can play with Vandy.

I say they did us well.

By every available metric the committee seeds on, we are more fit to host with USM as our 2 than vice versa outside of an AD on the committee

That’s a screw job

And I’ll never forgive them for the Auburn as an 11 and Bama as a 16 two years ago, where (shockingly) Auburn’s AD was on the committee.

Basically midweek wins don’t mean squat.

We could have gone .500 in midweek and ended up at the same spot.

So if that’s the case we should just be beating the brakes off Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind every week.

Playing and beating really good G5 teams like USM and Troy should mean something. This all comes down to us not having a rep on the committee, again.

We are a good team and can 100% win this regional. I expect us to.

ESPN show talked about the Hattiesburg regional with interest. But only with the assumption that USM will win in and matches up well with Vanderbilt. Just a tad bit disrespectful for a team that beat USM during the regular season and absolutely dwarfed their resume. But just have to go out and prove people wrong.

Same for pre conference weekends. No sense in going to the Jacksonville Classic and whipping up on the Sunbelt champ and auto host, Coastal Carolina.

Just stay home and play Western New York Tech. Rest up for the real season.

We can win this regional but think we have to stay out of the losers bracket. Need to win the first two games

We beat them with Finateri starting and our “BP scrubs” pretty much shut the door on them.

They started a guy that ended up being their Saturday guy.

We shouldn’t be out of this thing even if we do get to the losers bracket, but I hope it doesn’t come to that.

Teams that are on the bubble of making the tournament or hosting should have there AD’s disqualified from the committee to many times have teams on the bubble of both gotten there team in in baseball and basketball

Yeah but that makes too much sense. They’ve been doing that shite forever. I’m going to stand on my soapbox loud and proud about two years ago when we had head to head, RPI, and equal record to Auburn two years ago and they got 11 when we got 16. Seeding in baseball is so political that it’s comical.

Guess I don’t keep up with stats enough but I didn’t think AU would be a 4 overall seed

I remember that as well why our AD isn’t on these boards I’ll never know but it certainly helps no schools AD is gonna say there team shouldn’t host and Bama keeps getting bit by this in baseball
