This is mop up duty. The last few guys don’t sniff the field during a meaningful inning.
Our pen has been above average all year (outside of the young scrubs).

I brought up our BP a few weeks back. Our starters are going to have go to 7-8 innings most games and we are in the part of the season they should be doing this unless they get the brakes beat off them.

It’s a shame really. This team could be great if we just had a few good to great arms in the bullpen. All the pieces are there.

Well when a middle reliever has to start the game because we don’t have three weekend starters, you tend to run into trouble.
Austin Morris made one bad pitch (breaking ball in on a lefty) and paid a price for it.
Blackwood got screwed on a 3-2 FB on the outside corner that has been called a strike all night and led to at least two runs that LSU shouldn’t have had.
The rest of the non-mop up pen was efficient.
Still no idea where Myers was in the 7th unless he’s hurt.
We tried to play some sort of a chess match last night with our pen and it just didn’t work. Not to say it won’t work next time with a little tweak.
Would have liked to see Lehman get another batter in the 7th as well. He only threw like 7 pitches in the 6th.

College hitters looking so bad on a 12-6 curveball is just sickening.
It ain’t rocket science what their pitcher is going to throw. Keep the hands back, think middle-over and cut down on the big long swings. Damn!!!!!
