Golding is a brilliant defensive mind. He just can’t relate that to practice and games. Which is bad. Very bad.

I definitely dont have a warm fuzzy feeling hearing our scout team had their way with our defense for the second week in a row. I think our offense will move the ball regardless of who were playing though. Ive went from hoping our defense doesnt allow more than 21 points to hoping they can just get 1 stop so our offense can outscore the other team

I by no means are defending Golding but teams like Ole Miss have one shot at glory each year and that is beat UA. That was their/Kiffin super bowl this year. So I can understand them not playing great this weekend.

that really doesnt surprise me though. Ole Miss threw everything at us and gave it their all for 60 mins. They are emotional spent from our game. I am almost believing them stealing our comms or signals though with how they had the perfect answer for every call we had on defense

Since he can't translate his Xs & Os knowledge into an effective defense on the field, his knowledge is worthless. He's been a complete failure at Bama, both as a DC and as an ILB coach. So far, he's shown no signs of being able to improve the defensive performance. All of the players in the ILB position group he coaches are as lost and lethargic as he is. TL;dr: Golding sux.

yep, I think I've accepted the fact that our defense is going to be bad until we get a decent coach on that side of the ball like we have in sark on the offense

I believed this reasoning in the past. But what did ole miss do that was unusual against us play wise? Every single thing they tried worked against us. They ran for over 250 yards. We flat out just cant defend anything well currently. And the players are giving hardly any effort. A sad collective group

He played well. Florida sucks on defense too but I don’t get the kentucky game knowing what we know. Uga, Kentucky, and Arkansas May be the best defenses in the conference

it wasnt really anything they did in particular and I completely agree that it was a poor effort collectively as a defensive unit. But there were numerous calls during that game where we tried something on defense and they countered with a damn near perfect play call on offense. Now I'm not saying I absolutely believe they cheated, also Lane is a excellent play caller but it would not surprise me in the least to find out they were stealing our calls. It makes it even more fishy that most of their perfect calls came when they slowed the tempo down
