As harsh as that sounds,it's probably accurate. I think Grant at times can match up with them and could possibly make an argument when he is playing at a high level he is a better 4. The problem is they have 3 guys at that position who are all really good too.

By God, if we get down by 21 I’m calling a timeout!

I figure we will be the two in either Duke’s region or Houston’s. Tourney is all about matchups. Hope we don’t see UConn or Kansas in the second round.

I would much rather face UConn than Kansas. Hurley has already said half his team is hitting the portal after the season. I think Kansas gives us problems matchup wise

Hope we are in Houston’s region. We match up well with them-don’t think Oats has ever lost to them. I think Duke’s size would be a problem.
And you know they would get all the calls in an Elite 8 matchup

Nate went the douche route instead of admitting a huge blind spot

I think Florida is really good, but getting just a little too much hype. We didn't play well against them, and they got every single loose ball and most of the rebounds last game. I know people like to say it was lack of effort, on Bama's part, but I was watching closely and a LOT of it was just bad luck.

Basically, I don't think Florida can replicate that game. They can beat us, sure. But, I don't think they will.

Like I was saying, Florida is very good and deserves all the hype they get...

Seriously though, what was that second half? I knew when our first possession was Mo driving the full length of the court to run into a guy and fall out of bounds with the ball it was going to be rough.

UF shot lights out. I was shocked every time they missed - so I was shocked like twice.
Our guards were terrible.
Sears missed shots he usually makes with his eyes closed.
Nelson got hurt.

I don't want to play Florida again this year. We apparently just can't match up, and in today's case, that snowballed into a shitshow.

We are much better than them no doubt. But Hurley can coach and they have the talent to get hot for one night. Crazy thing is we are already know we will have a tougher second round matchup than last year. Whatever 7 or 10 we draw will be better than that Grand Canyon team last year

I agree with Nate on that one. I do agree that he can avoid timeouts at times but what was he supposed to tell them. We had our leader looking at the Jumbotron while oats was trying to coach in the previous timeout. As much as we like this team we have to accept a few of our guys are just plain out soft. That doesn’t mean they suck or we can’t win with them it just leaves us vulnerable against teams that are more physical.

Less about him saying anything to them and more about just trying to stop the bleeding and interrupt the flow.

Did reaggravate the same injury he’s been dealing with? I didn’t notice him going out

Nate Oats on calling or not calling timeouts: "What do you want me to call a timeout and tell you to be tougher?"

Sometimes the point of the timeout is to deny the other team momentum more than what you can offer tactically. Also, telling them to toughen up was probably as good as anything else.

He’s the best coach we’ve had at this school in a long time and perhaps ever. He’s got his failings but you’re having a melty.

Is your goal with every post to be a bigger douche than you were in the previous comment?

We look like a tired team. Maybe the extremely insane 30 game competition drained us or perhaps we are not as fit as we should be. We have not done well in back to back tough games.
What has bothered me the most is our lack of consistently lackadaisical 3- point and FT shooting.
I thought they would be our strengths.
Loss of Wrightsell was much bigger than I presumed. I thought Holloway/ Youngblood would easily cover for him.
It is what it is. Going out on a limb to say our floor will be Sweet 16 and ceiling Elite 8.

Seems to be his MO. I've never seen him post a positive comment in a game thread. He seems to only show up during losses.

I don’t see us looking like a tired team. We had energy against Tennessee, Auburn, and Kentucky. Florida just made us their bitch twice.
