I hate to say it but we had plenty of game tape to prepare for on Malzahn. His offense is very very obvious after a decade.

One thing about Grubb, he got chased out of Seattle because he would not commit to running the ball despite having a shaky offensive line.

I gotta say that is a spooky semblance to what we saw today.

It's gonna be a long arse season

Aguilar at Tennessee can run too and it appears he doesn’t shy away from contact. I saw nothing in Tallahassee that gave me any confidence we can hang with them, either.

Gus was killing the Bama D up the middle with his inside zone read. This is what he has done for over a decade. Nose play to jam up the middle, DT pinching down to penetrate, and LB's scaping to catch the bounce.

Our Nose play could not jam up the middle from the first snap. Our DT could not pinch and penetrate on a consistant basis. Our LB's were getting blown back by the FSU IOL. The safeties (18 & 3) were attempting to guess where the RB would cut and be where the LB's should have been. All of that opended up 5+ yard runs up the middle and QB read to bounce.

As for setting the edge...where was Qua Russaw? He was supposed to be the BEAST for the D. Yhonzea played much better than qua today.

Saban and Kirby as DC had all season to prepare for him with film, but we still could not stop that offense or Cam. Just saying.

So going against Malzhan first game of the season and not knowing how he is going to use the talent he has is not the easiest for any HC.

Bro…no one could stop Cam. He was an actual generational talent that went on to easily win the Heisman and be the no.1 pick.

The problem was Wommack seems to have learned NOTHING from last season’s losses. Every team we play with a running QB will implement some aspect of option plays and QB runs while throwing the ball like 15 times because his defense can’t really stop that

Except we were stopping him until later in the second half. We had Cam and Auburn beat.

It does not matter who it is. Saban and Kirby had stopped Cam and were up 24-7 going into half. Second half Malzhan adjusted, beat the Goat and what many believe the current top coach in the game.

Deboer is no Saban but he also had no time to prepare for what Malzhan was going to throw at him. There was no film on what this team was going to do in the first game.

Again not making excuses and if played in November the same outcome.

Alabama had a new quarterback, new wr, and OC and fsus defense didn’t seem to have much trouble figuring us out.
Every single thing we did was difficult. We couldn’t even line up half the time.

I'm just not sure DeBoer has the fire in the belly to kick some arse in the SEC. I almost expect him to show up at practice wearing flip flops with a man bun and paying more attention to the playlist for practice music instead of getting better. If the team has taken on his laid back personality and he can't grow a pair we need to pay him off and send him back to the left coast. It looks like here was no improvement from last year and that really worries me.....

An absolute ghost today.

What about #10? He's a senior LB built just like Reuben Foster and loves to hit and he just looks lost every play. A total non-factor today.

We were up on Cam 24-0 and then crapped the bed.

Played Barron with one good arm.

Yeah they talked shite and were ready for a fight. Bama looked like they were showing up to casual business lunch

We shouldnt forget...Gus, Norvell, FSU in general had a chip on their shoulder about Bama. If they were gonna sell out to win one game this year...it was this one. It was 100% a grudge game for them and they had a HUGE edge advantage

Oh he was a factor all right.

Hesitating instead of driving through the ball carrier cost us severely today. I invite you in particular to replay their 2nd TD.

I sure didn’t see love to hit from him at all

Here is the brass tacks and I hate to say this, this game was easy for Gus.

He watched 2 games, Vandy and Oklahoma. His new QB is average as average can be. Threw one downfield ball and nothing else of significance. Motion jet sweet and run inside read. It’s all it took. Had we actually been able to score the game would have seemed better more shootout like. Every single team on earth will watch the game against FSU and have this team nailed. The only hope is to get the offense scoring. The defense cannot stop the Read because of scheme and personnel it doesn’t matter we have a good secondary, all the damage is done upfront. All our secondary did the entire game was chase guys who should have been tackled 7 yards ago. Thats the reality. It’s so simple.

Just glad I don’t take losses as hard as I used to. This season is most likely over before it even got started . Can’t remember when we looked so slow and lost across the field and especially how bad our LB play was . OL is still avg at best ( who am I kidding , it sucks ) . All of the fundamental pieces it takes to be a good football team , we are lacking . We have a few “good pieces” here and there . Just got to hope we can’t fool people with smoke and mirrors and Grubb was not impressive yesterday at all IMO
