- Louisville is a much better team than people are giving them credit for. We have a tendency to blow pretty good teams out in the opener. Jawan Pass is gonna give a lot of folks trouble this year, and it wouldn't surprise me if they end up in the top 25. Which brings me to my next point...
- Without Tua, I think we may have found oursleves in a game vs. Louisville. The fact that we went 26-2 with Hurts is an incredible testament to our defense the past 2 seasons.

- I thought Saban managed the QB play really well, getting all 3 guys experience in a game that was completely lopsided. I still think Jalen is our 2nd best QB

- Athleticism. I think this is the most athletic team of the Saban era. Also the smallest. But we've got incredible athletes everywhere. Especially
- Jalyn Waddle. That guy is absolutely unbelievable. To be able to walk in as a true frehman and be the most electrifying player on the best team in the country is pretty impressive. Waddle will be playing on Sundays. He's the best athlete we've had since Kenyan Drake who also wore 17.

- Deionte Thompson is the star of our defense. His breaking ability is unreal
- Brian Robinson is our best running back of the 4, but all of them looked tremendous. Najee may not have broken for a big play, but he's still the same back that played vs Georgia. I don't get the hate
- Glad to see Josh Jacobs back to his old self looking like his freshman year

The key to this season is going to be staying healthy. We've gotten lighter, longer, and faster at every position, and that can lead to more injuries.
- Tua has GOT to be kept healthy. He took some hard shots in this game. His playing style is so wild that he could easily get hurt. Let's all pray he doesn't, and if he does it's not too long to cost us

We look damn good for the first game, with lots of room to grow

Is a pretty hot take.

I see Pass as becoming a very good QB. Elite? Not sure but the potential is there. For a freshman facing Bama D, he did good.

Would have liked to have seen Mack make more passes but that's mop-up duty for you.

Waddle is going to be spectacular!

Deionte is the next Ronnie Harrison and could be better.

Our RB corps still has it and will be dominating for some time to come.

I thought Damien Harris still looked pretty great, but Josh Jacobs if he stays healthy I think he could contend for best on the team with D Harris

Not sure I agree with that one. I still like Damien Harris.

Yeah, regardless of the order you put them in they are all elite. People have to stop having 1 game memories. Najee dominated a great defense in the title game.

There's no way to know, because Mac wasn't allowed to throw the ball down the field.

Pretty good take but JJ8 is the man. He’s finally healthy. He’s hungry.

I agree Louisville will win some games and they have athletes. No doubt.

Does that not tell you all you need to know?

True, but I'd feel pretty good about our chances if god forbid Tua couldn't play for a couple of games, and Jalen got the start. Experience definitely counts for something

And as the guy above said with the running backs, you can't go off of one game. We've gotta feed the hot hand, and in game one i feel like that was Jacobs and Robinson.
I'll just say I don't like the idea of Robinson being 4th string. I'd rather see a 4-way tie on the depth chart

No, it doesn’t. I think we threw one pass the whole time he was in because Saban was in game killing mode. Keep the clock running and get out of there.

With this thought, coupled with the number of quality RBs we have, Tua should not have ANY called running plays. Maybe I'm being overly protective, but it's just not in our best condition to run him at all. He'll get enough scramble carries when the pocket breaks down, and that should be enough.

Not really, b/c Saban did the same thing with Greg McElroy (except for that one TD against auburn in the Iron Bowl) and AJ McCarron. I don't understand the logic of it.

I get what you're saying, and I partially agree, but the threat of Tua running is huge in terms of our option plays, and what defenses have to prepare for. Plus, he's a powerful runner in short yardage - really strong legs. I think Locksley did a good job of using him, but not too much. I do hear ya though

I'm very sadly (and 100% hope I'm dead wrong) certain that Tua will miss a few games with the way he plays and the kind of defenses we're going to face in the SEC West.

When (ok please "if") that happens, we have the best backup quarterback in the country, Alabama remains a real, if not weakened, contender.

D Harris looked like he got his bell rung re-routing himself on another shitty Jalen pass

So in the final audition for the starting QB role, Saban decided to not let one of our 2 best QBs throw the ball, but he let the #3 guy throw it 9 times? Makes sense.

Saban was running the clock out when Mac came into the game.

I don't think so, Tim.

He's very good but I think depth chart has it correct. I think Najee has the will end up being the best of the bunch.
