Zone and pull block teams usually are better at ceiling the edge than this team. Watch what IU did doing the same shite. They run outside zone as a cohesive unit just shielding the defense away from the runner. When they pull or cross block, their pulling linemen actually get to his spot and springs the run.

I saw someone post this last night but by God it is real:

Dude just dropped one of those Champions of Life type soundbites a coach usually shits out when they're going to be fired soon.
My gut feelings on this regime continue to worsen...

quote:
PASADENA, Calif. -- Alabama Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer said there is "a fine line" between his team's historic 38-3 loss to Indiana in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl and where it wants to be.
"It may not feel like it when you're in this moment right now and what happened today, but I can tell you it's a fine between being here and being at the top," DeBoer said. "We got to put the work in, you got to believe, you got to be consistent, you got to have discipline and we'll get back to work and start all over again."

There was more to the quote that I think adds appropriate context:
"Go back to starting over from scratch with putting the people around you -- the right people -- and committing to something. A common goal together and the actions following it," said DeBoer, who is 19-8 in two seasons since replacing Nick Saban.
—
Maybe he’s just saying stuff but that sounds like a guy who knows that he has to make personnel changes.

Cignetti isn't going anywhere. Why would he? He takes "Never-haves" to the Promised Land. Plus he's in the B1G where he'll be primed for the playoffs most every year.

The Ala band sounded pretty good.

You do realize when Brent Key took over that GT was an absolutely terrible team, right? He doesn’t get a lot of great athletes at GT but he makes the most of what he has to work with. His teams play hard and are fundamentally sound. He’s a good coach.
That said, he’s not coming to Tuscaloosa. He’s a GT alum and waaaay less pressure at the GT job. You win 8-9 games most seasons, you have a job for life there.

I saw something very disturbing last night that we saw back in game 1 and that I never wanted to see again. That team came out of the locker room after halftime and quit. You could see it on the defensive side of the ball more distinctly. Guys arm tackling or not even attempting to make a tackle. Guys getting run over and run through. On offense, it’s hard to tell if they quit or if it’s the same shitty OL play we’ve endured all season. I watched Indiana run an innovative but easily countered defensive line stunt over and over to disrupt our offense almost every time. It was a display of utter stupidity and incompetence from our OL staff.
I’m old school and maybe it doesn’t work this way anymore but if Coach Bryant saw players or entire units half-assing it and quitting like they did, he would keep going down the depth chart subbing until he found somebody that WANTED to play. They might be a walk-on and he might be getting manhandled but if he was busting his arse while the 5 star was loafing, he’d play the walk-on until the message was received. A team full of 3 star or below guys that wanted to play and played to a standard, whipped our 4 and 5 star lazy arse entitled team last night. They were still busting their arse when they were up by 4 scores and Alabama had quit.
Ty needs to move on. The book is out on him and until he starts hitting deep throws consistently, DC’s know how to shut him down. That is, when he wasn’t running for his life or taking a sack due to our OL. He was arse after the Missouri game, injured or not. Mack came in last night and moved the offense better than it has moved since midway through the season. He should have seen more snaps when Ty was stinking it up.
If the OL coach got on the plane in Pasadena, he has been employed too long. A pink slip should be on his desk this morning and Sam Pittman should be hired.
Grubb should be put on notice that he’d better figure out how to run the football in this league or he won’t last long.
DeBoer should be told in no uncertain terms that the honeymoon is over, it’s time to earn your paycheck or move on so make so tough decisions and changes or Alabama will make them for you and you might be among the changes. The extension should be put on hold pending the 26 season.
Tell Sexton he can go frick himself with his idiotic contracts. Compensation will be a base salary of $5 million plus $500,000 for every win. You can have whatever ridiculous astronomical buyout you want, just so long as firing for cause includes substandard job performance. The university should not be held hostage by a mafia don turned agent.

This. Losing isn’t the problem. It’s the quitting that we are seeing in multiple games now under DeBoer.

There is iron in your words of life.
But you know you have lost the battle when you have to point out all the issues to the person in charge of them.
OC, OL, and ST coaches should be reporting to HR today for dismissal.
and the LB coach Morrell.
