I’m quite sure Alabama wasn’t any of their highest offers

I'm also quite sure other schools didn't offer 3x+what we offered. It's easy to say it's not about money until you get an offer for $3-4 million instead of $1 million.

Scuttlebutt on the shitposting discord is that Aden Holloway has a very minor injury and won’t play tonight as a precaution

I figured everyone but Bethea was out for precautionary reasons.

Few opportunities to play the young guys with low risk for the next half dozen games or so I believe.

So, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Wrightsell, Holloway, and Bristow were nursing minor injuries that they'd play on if it were a bigger opponent.

Guess we'll see this weekend when playing in MSG.

Qayden Samuels - Bama slight edge over Georgetown

Caleb Holt - still not committing until spring. Bama/UK favorites

Ikenna Alozie - considering GCU, Bama, and Houston

Need to close this one. He could put up numbers like Miller in our system.

We are in a pretty good position with Samuels and Holt. Pre NIL these guys would 100% be ours.

But don’t put it past Georgetown with Samuels and Kentucky with Holt to just swoop in last minute with Massive bags.

We should be cheering for Kentucky to land Tyran Stokes. From Holt's comments, that would hurt Kentucky's chances a lot.

Very nice.

Add Holt and it’s a very strong class.

I hope we have the funds to go shopping in the portal

Nice

Add Holt and spend a lot of money on a competent post player in the portal and we’ll be cooking.

Samuels may not be a top draft pick, but his game suggests an efficient 20 PPG scorer at the college level (even if it's not in year 1). Harden type game (slow, deliberate, uses bigger frame to get separation instead of relying on speed/quickness). Really interesting player.

Yeah, he's got a very well rounded offensive game with a pretty deep bag. He makes tough shots from basically anywhere on the floor. That's why I said he could put up numbers like Miller did for us. They go about it in different ways, but the efficient shotmaker archetype is the same. Put him in a system where he always has a green light and gets a lot of good looks and he's going to score.

Hes taking a visit to a football game on the same day the basketball team is playing in New York? I guess in theory the staff will be back in time to host him if the game wraps at around 2 eastern, probably on a plane headed back by 4 and its a 2 hour flight where you gain an hour into Tuscaloosa. Thats still a pretty crazy day for Oats and Co if that's the plan.
