Sounds like he closed strong. Thats a good sign for his future.

Yaxel had to go to a JUCO too, fwiw.

Shah Hall is dunking over a bunch of 6'2 and 6-foot-3 forwards and centers in junior college. There's bigger fish to catch, but if we can put him in the game to play football with the guy from Florida(Rueben Chinyelu), then I'm all for it. Chinyelu manhandled Bediako when we played Florida and he was just named defensive player of the year.

Shah Hall is depth on the cheap and nothing else. Probably means we’re taking an even bigger hit at forward than just eligibility expiration.

Don’t love 44% from the field but that could easily be the scheme

Ideally you’d like for him to be a tad higher than 33% from 3 as well.

I have watched him play in person several times at Troy. He is a grinder and plays hard

Ideally I’d like him to hit 100%

But for context, Momma Boy Jemison hit 34%, Allen just under 34%, Aiden 33%, Bethea 31%, TBB 30%, Noah 16%(seems high lol)

So 33% out of a forward in our system would be good. He’ll likely get more open shots.

Interesting rounding.

Jemison was at 34.8%, Allen at 34.1%, Sherrell at 33.8%, Bethea at 31.4%, TBB at 30.2%, Williamson at 16.7%

I mean, yeah I didn’t post the decimals. It was just to give context to what our guys last year shot.

He took more 3s than 2s. He just isn't a great 3pt shooter. He has consistently been pretty efficient on 2pt shots and is a reliable FT shooter though.

Still hopefully waiting to hear Brian Adams has been released. I really want Oats to go after a college defensive-minded coach.

I mean, Oats talks about Brian like Brian is a defensive genius. Maybe hes trying to help get him hired somewhere

I don't know of any coach - other than Willard at Villanova - who is going to outright say anything negative about their assistants. It's something a lot of people have discussed since his arrival.

really thought the kid had a bit of potential after his freshman year, he got more playing time than Jalil Bethea on a deeper team.

But I watched SMU's NCAA tourney game against Miami(OH), and he was abysmal on defense. Couldn't hit a shot on offense either. Hes too stiff and almost doesnt seem to know how use his legs on a basketball court.
