When we took Richardson, I figured this was case

We are gonna lose oats eventually because we don’t give him enough $$$ to build a roster. And it’s a fricking shame.

We don’t have to give him Kentucky/Arkansas $$$ but we can’t even give him top 10 in the SEC $$$ an that’s fricking sad.

I recently had the opportunity to ask Oats about this through chat. He gave no indication that this was a worry of his at all.


He indicated that he and the staff have an idea of what they want to pay for certain players and stated explicitly they aren’t getting into bidding wars for anyone.


He also said he believes the appeal of Alabama is that the players will get paid a good NiL amount but the benefit is you will win, be about the right things, and be developed for the big pay day of the NBA


I think we all worry about this stuff but I got directly from the horses mouth(keyboard) that this is intentional by him and he is team building not player stacking. Was a relief to hear what I’d already assumed.

If it’s just possession then I sincerely hope we don’t suspend him at all let alone the whole tournament for weed.

I remember the discord had him as suspended earlier this year but it ended up actually being a wrist injury instead of being in trouble.

No kidding. I don't even think he should be punished, much less suspended. It's fricking 2026.
