Net-net we have lost 22 and picked up 6, leaving us tissue paper thin in a couple of spots like LB. I don’t like the way this is panning out. Are they going to be more active and aggressive during the spring window? We’re going to be playing like we are on NCAA probation if we don’t shore up the numbers.

Unless I am mistaken I think roster is at 80-82 players with a spring window still to come. Alabama is fine.

SEC isn't doing that for 2025 at least. They're staying at 85.
That's crazy, let the Big Ten get ahead of the SEC.

Why not increase the amount to 105?

Everyone is staying at 85 until the class action lawsuit is settled. The judge overseeing the case struck down the settlement that would have increased the scholarship limit to 105.

We aren't good at this portal thing. Lol
Who exactly do you think you are going to convince in the portal era to come be a clear #4 or 5 running back? It's either a guy like this or taking a chance on someone from the FCS.

DeBoer built his name at the NAIA level. He’s like a NDSU coach. He can win with his players. Just give it time.

I listened to a preseason interview. Dre'lyn missed some time with an ankle the last 2 seasons. He also had a family issue in 23 that dealt with. Looks like he showed up ready last year and 1000 yards was the goal.
This from article about Louisiana's backfield around season last year.

THREE-HEADED BACKFIELD
Louisiana is known for developing offensive linemen and running backs that find their way to playing in the NFL.
Both ball carriers have done most of the heavy lifting in the run game while their third running back Dre’Lyn Washington was recovering from an injury sustained early in the season.
Since Washington’s return, head coach Michael Desormeaux and his coaching staff have become more lethal on the ground, have more effective options to go to, and can rely on the hot hand if one of the other backs isn’t having his best game.

Kid seems fast, could see him being used as a gadget guy now that we don’t have KLaw anymore
We have the space, might as well take him

Looks like a better prospect than #22 was plus Bama saved some cash. We need a back with some shake and bake instead of plodders.

If ever there was an example to fully confirm the tampering suspicions, it's this one with Amari Jefferson.

Lonergan will probably look like a veteran Tom Brady next year
